> In reply to Jude @ 2012-05-16 09:10 from IaH9 - click to readAs i said earlier none of other symbian phones i.e. 603, 700 or 701 have autofocus cam which is must as per my need atleast.
Then the very next thing i need is battery backup and fluidity, it must be lag free..
If these things do come in N8, i m gonna take it without any second thought.
I listed windows 7.5 in my list coz of it's ultra fluidic nature "0" lag, has got some apple effects :) at a low price.
But some points in those 101 which include no call times in call history. also can't save nos. from those are such small things which a 25$ phone can provide :P..
So i will go to CROMA outlet/electronic store to get a demo of these and will look onto the tiniest details and decide finally.
Till now N8 seems to be my final decision.

Your welcome.
Personally, I don't like windows phone. Maybe all those listed in the "101 reasons not to buy windows phone..." are true. This I wanted to point out: HTC radar and nokia's windows phones have the same disadvantages in terms of usability and limitations. As for outlook sync, it should be and can be synchronize with windows phones but sad to note that most users are facing this dilemma.
While there are other users who love windows OS on their phones, some people are discouraging others to buy.
So if you ask me about my personal opinion about windows phones I say, it is good and better to have a windows phone than no phone at all. Meaning to say, it is my least wanted phone.
I go for quality, durability and usefulness of any gadgets. I own actually, 4 Nokia phones but not 1 of them is a windows powered phone, Symbian and Meego only.
In buying phones, consider, what are your needs and of course it should be durable.
It should be you to decide which phone suits you. As for me, I don't like windows phone. If you are going to ask for my advice, don't buy windows phones. Better go for Symbian or android.
My advice, if you decided to accept, is to go for Nokia 700 or Nokia 701. Both are Symbian Belle. The Nokia lumia 710 is a windows phone and I dont recommend that.
Hope this helps...

> In reply to Jude @ 2012-05-16 02:54 from IaH9 - click to readThank you for that detailed explanation..
regarding nokia 701, i would have straight away bought it as it is quite lesser than n8, no probs if it has less storage and low reso cam than N8 but the biggest drawback in it without which i cannot survive is the camera's FIXED focus..!!
WTH has nokia done do this..!! this is the only reason i need to spens so much on N8 to get a autofocus cam.
As i need to capture some texts , macro shots etc, everything will b blurred in case of 701 or 603 otherwise i know these fones rock..
And i have seen that link showing 101 reasons not to buy lumia.... Is it prob will all win7.5 phones or specifically for LUMIA??
i.e. there are other fones too like OMNIA W, HTC radar etc... do they face such things as listed in those 101 points?

I've been using N8 for quite sometime now and it is upgraded to Belle OS. I have a post somewhere below saying that this phone is great and about the battery issue, with moderate use (1hr of total calls, 1 hr of browsing, 1.5 hrs of music and less than a hundred text messages) my bat charge last for two days. Fluidity, no question. Very fluid. processor speed is only 680Mhz but its speed in browsing is very decent. It only lags about 2 to 3 seconds compared to 1.2Ghz dual core phones. I had compared this with my brother's Samsung galaxy SII. He is an android fanboy and just bought galaxy Note a couple of months back.
Anyway, going back. Now, if you are concern on browsing speed, take note of this. If N8 that has processor speed of 680Mhz can catch up quickly with dual core phones, how much more for a Nokia 701 that has 1Ghz processor speed?
And if you are budget conscious, go for Nokia 701. Further more, Nokia 701 have future updates while N8 had its last major update in Belle OS.
Hope this helps. Good day, dude...

im so glad to have my N8 with me during my travels. beautiful sceneries and other things that captured my interest were all caught by the beautiful camera of this phone with enough justice, who needs the burden of a heavy slr cam around the neck?

Hi everyone.
I m looking to buy a new Nokia N8, but quite confused coz it's an oldie now.
Also it's price tag is high compared to other phones which have a large screen (atleast 3.7) and ppi is less in this :210!
but i need a phone with nice touch, fluidity, reliablity, fully lag free and good battery backup(must).
So shortlisted only NOKIA brand.. and under it Lumia 710 and max i can stretch for is N8.
So folks kindly advise me which one to go for?
I really like mango os and it's fluidic nature can withstand it's limitations like no bluetooth transfer storage capacity and all..
But i need a decent battery backup i.e. 2 days with moderate use.
heard that N8's battery backup has declined with belle and some issues are also there.
Kindly throw some light, i need to decide quickly. :)

iPhone is worthless, nokia N8 is still alive.

I have Samsung galaxy s2 and I am thinking to buy another phone. But with this weak processer! I mean 680 MHz ! I think it will be slow as web browser so any idea from owners about the quality of speed of this phone?? Despite that I know Nokia isn't same as old time but still I love Nokia

> In reply to Sher Dls khan @ 2012-05-10 08:45 from utD{ - click to readi dont need to worry about N8 even in low processor, low ram, symbian & non-user removable battery, & you say this phone is high price?...
-low processor & ram? well, this phone is already told us that this is low-end smartphone but one of nokia's ultimate smartphone. low processor but good for me, runs smooth but have little lag if the battery is very low. it doesn't need dual core processor compared to android phones that needs dual or multiple core to run smoothly.
-non-user removable battery coz its prevent the battery separate from the phone if you accidentally dropped your phone to conc. pavement. this phone is more durable than iPhone 4 (thin glass housing cover) & Samsung Galaxy S (cheap plastic).
-symbian os is good os for nokia. i update to belle and my phone improves the battery life last up to 3-4 days (normal/moderate use) & 5-6 days (standby use), but slightly reduced phone performance. apps low price in nokia store.
-bad gpu? but runs HD games. i try playing HAWX HD & Asphalt 6 with my phone, they runs smoothly. haven't you tried this?
....and i purchased this phone in just $417 brandnew vs iPhone 4 $715 & Samsung Galaxy S $600. Now, you know which is one is expensive less?

One more thing, I hope some software expert out there develop a software or something that will use a part of Mass storage as virtual memory/storage for apps use. Just like in windows, hard disk space is used as part of memory or virtual memory.
How about the Nokia development team. Dare to take the challenge? =)
Good day, guys...
