I have restore all setting through password given in the hand set because of this my all contacts stored in the phone were gone and only sim contacts are available
Please tell me how to bring this contacts again

in connections setup a new connection, name MO in the name and then click cellular gprs and click next, in the next page type airtelgprs.com in small letters and click next exit settings
come back to manage connections click manage connections, and cnfirm MO connection switch off the phone and switch on ur connected

I made the same mistakes & went through the same problems what you faced seriously ASUS SUCKS they should be dragged to the consumer court or simply must me thrown out of the country for their poor unreliable quality & services

for some reason i do not understand when other companies were having windows based fones with 600 and 800 Mhz processors, why did Asus decide to have 200Mhz processor... half the time my Gprs wudnt work and the movies would be seen frame by frame... bout a single frame per second... try running 3-4 applications at the same time.... wait till next yr for the fone to respond....

if you folks want this snail phone to go any faster, INSTALL Windows Mobile 6.5 on this. the phone`s performance increases drastically. I tried installing Android on this too, but it was not ported only emulated.
Installing WM 6.5 is fairly easy - about 10 minutes. to further enhance the performance install OMAPCLOCKKEPEER.
this pathetic phone is now able to withstand 1.5 days of charge, no call drops, no signal loss and fairly decent GPRS experience.

like you I`ve had really bad experience with this stupid handset. total waste of money and a goodwill that will be a thing of the past.
the touchscreen on my phone also got screwed up, and to top that it was hard to locate any support for this stupid phone. but I was lucky enough to get a touchsreen ( only the touchscreen not the display) from ebay about a 3 weeks ago for a mere 300/ Rs. & got it replaced from one of the local cell phone engineers.
my advice to ALL .. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ASUS.

Hello Friends !!!
I do have a very bad experience about ASUS P527. I had very high regards for ASUS products but I believe that was the past. Now there is no difference between ASUS and its competitors. They have discarded their philosophy of providing Quality products to its customers.
Now they have a philosophy to sell once and then earn more out of the service and repairs. They will sell you a product whose performance will be similar to any other chinese mobile phone but will charge a huge premium.
I went off to buy ASUS P527 keeping aside options from Nokia and Sony Ericson. Within the 1st year itself the Display screen went off. The touch screen was not responding. This happened very close to the warranty expiry date. I was Lucky and got a free replacement of the same.
After this within 4 months of the replacement, the problem reoccured and this time there was no saviour. Warranty EXPIRED !!! Left with no option to go back tot he service center. And this time only just the Display screen will cost me approx 2500 Rs. + the service charge say another 300 to 500 Rs.
I realised the biggest blunder done by me of buying a handset worth Rs. 16000/- which cannot even give you a satisfactory service during its warranty period and will turn upinto a white elephant immediately after its warranty expiry.
The biggest blunder is that only just the touch screen cannot be replaced which could have relieved the cost substantially instead you need to replace both (touchscreen + display). Something really weird !!!
I cannot expect this kind off foolishness from technology giant like ASUS !!! Really sorry to say that I am not at all happy with it. The oply option that seems to me is to spend few bucks more and go for either Sony Ericsson or Nokia for a trouble free performance.
So after all this I decided not to buy anything just on the basis of the company's name and fame but we should evaluate products based on their reviews from our friends and experts.
NO MORE GOING FOR ASUS !!!
