HTC ready to face Apple in court, fully defend themselves

Today HTC released a dedicated press release to voice out their disagreement with Apple's legal actions against them. Now, we don't know if anyone ever felt happy about being sued but the Taiwanese company obviously felt the need to underline their discontent.

The CEO of HTC Peter Chou is quoted as saying that: "HTC disagrees with Apple's actions and will fully defend itself. HTC strongly advocates intellectual property protection and will continue to respect other innovators and their technologies as we have always done, but we will continue to embrace competition through our own innovation as a healthy way for consumers to get the best mobile experience possible." Let's see how that goes.

HTC also used the occasion to remind the audience of some of their achievements including the first Windows PDA (1998) the first Windows Phone (June 2002), the first Google Android smartphone (October 2008), etc. We aren't particularly sure what that has to do with whether the company is infringing the Apple's patents or not but still.

Actual court battles probably won't start before 2010 has ended but it will be interesting to see how this one unfolds.

Apple should get lost... The only thing they are good at is copying populair interfaces and software, giving it their own twist, put it on some low-spec device which can't be customized, where the software is showing bugs or doesn't work at all, whic...

Apple is also being sued by Nokia for patent infringement. Many of the innovations are so similar, it's hard to tell who steals whose ideas.

Nope. I costs money to have stores and you have to pay people to work in them. You also have to pay people to research and develop new products. I like dealing with strong companies who aren't going to be gone tomorrow.
