Oh my, i got this phone on Monday and i absolutely love it!
Email is awesome, took 24 hours for the BIS to set up but once it came through email is fantastic.
On device facebook is average, not as good as real facebook, but does have some excellent points such as the picture viewing.
As a planning/scheduling device it is fantastic!
Typing is really good!
I have found battery life to be excellent, but obviously need more time to properly see how this holds up.
Screen quality is good, I haven't had any problems.
Screen size is awesome! especially for viewing web pages, pictures, email and everything.
Sound quality is superb, was listening to music the other evening and the quality of the earphones was crystal clear, was listening to it on the lowest it can go, i was really happily surprised!
I have had one or two problems with the internet browser and it not wanting to open up certain pages that I commonly use and normally open with Opera Mini on my Nokia.
All in all i am so happy with this phone and highly recommend it!

I have mine for about a month now. Upgraded from an 8310. Yes I do miss having gps but I didn't use the gps often enough for it to be a real issue. Otherwise much prefer it to my old phone. Feels twice as fast as the 8310. LOVE the new trackpad. MUCH nicer than the trackball. In sa we have a bis account for about $7.50 per month which means unlimited internet and emails. A colleague has a E71 and I much prefer my 8520. ONCE YOU GO BLACKBERRY YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK !

> In reply to bbdee @ 2009-10-07 13:40 from 2xyM - click to readWhat i REALLY want to know is, about the color display.. on the blackberry website
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/d...roducts=1686
It says the 8520 doesn't have a color display... was really wondering about that, and is there MUCH of a difference between the color display of the 8900 and the Gemini (8520)? Any help or advice would BE highly appreciated!

I got my 8520 and my partner has 8900
there are only few things make the 2 difference
1. camera
2. gps
3. screen display
4. price
now if ur looking for bb which is not pricey. better if u pick 8520 which is almost identical to 8900. good phone for a good price
