For the people who are planning on buying this phone, I would highly advise NOT to. Apart from the looks, this phone is absolute crap (it's LG.....duh!). I purchased this phone last year, and before buying it, I did quite a bit of research on this phone. The main concern I had was its realiability, but I didn't believe the other reviews since I take good care of my stuff, so I pretty much thought that my phone wouldn't have any problems.
Well, I was wrong.
The first LG GD900 I had had a few problems that were really annoying. The screen would randomly flicker and the phone would randomly restart. I returned my first phone for a replacement GD900 thinking that it would be all good. WRONG. The 2nd phone had the exact same problems as the first phone, PLUS even more problems! Not only does the screen randomly flicker, the touchscreen will also randomly decide to not register any taps (this usually occurs after making a call).
I regret purchasing this phone and I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone.

> In reply to K @ 2011-11-04 08:52 from 3amB - click to readthere is a sensor on the top of the phone near the secondary camera. this sensor causes the screen to go black when anything gets near it. the logic behind that is that when the phone is near your ear, the screen won't work so you don't by mistake hang up or press anything. keep your finger away from that sensor and the screen will light back in a second.

Just my phone is the same black screen when someone is calling and I do not touch anything and I can not see if anyone is calling, the same when i make the calls out, the screen goes blank and i can not press any button also, but my ear or finger is no near the sreen. So when I want to listen to my voicemail i can not delete or save any message cos none of the buttons is working.....

This phone is really the best I've ever used. I'm not thinking of disposing it even after buying the lg optimus that is currently reigning in my mind. It has its own peculiar characteristics that are unrivalled even by latest phones. Can't stop using it.

Am I the only one who hasn't had any problems with this phone? I love it! My screen goes black when someone calls as well, but i simply move my finger away from the sensor at the top and it lights up again. I'm extremely happy with the quality, style and design. I've had this phone for 19 months now and I've had a lot of phones before this one, and so far, it's the best phone I have ever owned!
I guess yous are all just unlucky!

> In reply to sadgirl @ 2011-08-11 13:20 from JK$H - click to readthe reason it goes black is because something is blocking the light sensors at the top of the phone. it goes dark when you have your ear up against the phone when talking because it senses that your ear is there so you don't touch the screen and press something accidentally while your on the phone. a lot of touch screens have this feature, its nothing you should be worried about :)
