I find the arrangement flexible. Heavy calls and short texting will make use of the closed mode T9 keypad. Longer texts, lecture notes, love letters, poetry, legal ramifications will embrace the open mode, slide-out wonderful QWERTY. This particular QWERTY is better than the E71. It is wider and can more easily accomodate adult fingers. In theory typing should be more accurate and faster.
Now let's talk about problems. I do not understand why they did not place more internal memory in it. For instance when transferring a file from phone to phone by Bluetooth, internal memory is used DURING the process. Once it is over, one can use storage memory (eg 4GB provided).
My point is if there is not enough internal memory, large file transfer will not work. I cannot believe Nokia have made this mistake!
A further point is Nokia have not given us the benefit of the bigger, higher res screens as seen in their touchscreen models. Is it a crime to have a large high res non-touch screen??
Nokia had choices: they could have made the phone slightly longer and put in a 2.8 inch screen with their recent QHD (640*360) res. The two keyboards would still be retained but the screen would be bigger and sharper.
Alternatively, the T9 keyboard could have been scrapped for the sake of a 3.2 inch QHD screen. This would make for a far better browsing and work experience. If a call has to be made you simply slide out the keyboard. The small inconvenience of sliding to call is worth the gain of a higher res screen. The E-series is for enterprise and not just for call making. The internet is crucial in the modern world. The smaller and lower res screens make it more difficult to surf the net.
So, all in all it has two advantages over the E71. It is slimmer and thus does not resemble a slice of bread when holding it to the ear! Secondly it has T9.
In my considered opinion I do not feel that these advantages are as important as the new, bigger, higher res screens.
Nevertheless, if I had to choose between the E71 and E75 I would go for the latter because of its superior keyboard.

Very very shocked.
Additionally your new E55 very nice but should have left the original E50/51 keypad not one that cheap units like T-Mobile Shadow uses.

I must agree with the rest, this phone is UGLY!! the numeral keypad uses that type of plastic that attracts both fingerprints and dirt. and the slide out keyboard looks like it's from another planet compared to the main phone component. I am soooooooo disappointed.

This is unbelievably gorgeous phone in person. Nokia did a great job on this one (unlike to, hm-hm, N86), it's light and it's really user-friendly.
