6233 is much better with 240x320 pixels screen and 640x480 video recording. It has the same 2MP cam but no flash. It has higher quality metal outlook and great functionality. It also has loud Stereo speakers and a better keyapd
But it has an OS and you can expect data hack and viruses.

Thank you all for solutions. That was prompt!
Nav: K550i doesn't have light or powersave options. It's just settings -> display -> brightness (by %)
sm4rtboy: Activity menu or pop up is just a preference where the former will have the whole 'New events' on the screen and the latter will notify xx number of new messages. When new sms-es etc arrives while the phone is on idle or powersave mode, the activity menu or pop-up appears for that split 2 secs before the screen blanks again. Nope, still doesn't have the time floating while the phone's on idle or while the screen's blank.
Carbonize: Yes, I guess some if not all phones works that way where when it's on idle or blank, just press any buttons and a dull light lights up and you can see the screen for 2 seconds (for time check or whatever).
My next question, could it be theme-dependent??

Again.. It has an internal memory of 80mb plus an external m2 memory of 64mb. But it can support up to 2 gig. Camera is far better than Nokia's 6680, considering the flash and white balance. U can tell a camfone is good when u start using it in lowlight together with a flash. If you a camfone then go for the cybershot, otherwise go for the walkman fone if you prefer high quality music.

Has anybody called with that cell for more than 15min??? I am interested in radiation effects. Does it warm your ear much??? It has 1.25 SAR level, so it is high. I am curious how it looks in real life. Thanks

Sorry is it to hard for you to click the link marked specifications? You've got 64MB because that's what the phone comes with. As it clearly states in the specifications that you were obviously to lazy to read - "64 MB internal memory"

To activate the screen after it has turned off just press the menu button. It will light up and not go into menu or do whatever is on the screen.
As far as I am aware the W series are the Walkman phones hence the W and the K series are the Cybershot phones. I don't get why the W series no longer has auto focus. The W810i is a Walkman phone and yet it had auto focus and flash. In fact the W810 is almost identical, feature wise, to the K550i.
Sony should stop splitting the series up and put both good cameras and the Walkman software (and headset) into all phones. The W810 was a brilliant all round phone as it cimbined the best of both Walkman and Cybershot.
As to price I just bought mine for £130 here in the UK. Carphone Warehouse sells them for £180 sim free but £130 on Pay and Go and yet the Pay and Go phones are the same sim free phones but with a sim card. I also had to put £10 on the sim card so the actual cost was £140. Still £40 less than buying it sim free and I used the savings to buy a 1GB M2 card.

Well you should try this:
Go into the menu then settings and then to display and go to light. Powersave must be selected. Change it to automatic and you will get the clock and reminders.

I own a K800i previously but "downgraded" to the new K550i recently. No doubt, K800i is superior where camera functions are concerned but 550i is much much slimmer and slicker. However, now that I own 550i, can somebody tell me how to get the time/new message icon/missed call icon floating on display while the phone's on idle (when the screen blanks out after screensaver)?

Automatic Keylock.
Press Menu then Press 9 (or goto Settings). Scroll down when on the General tab to Security. You will find Automatic Keylock in there.

Hi I'm looking for a phone to buy and I'm between Z710 - K550, so any comparison would be welcome. There 's also a question that comes to my mind. Currently I have the T230 -ancient :P- mobile. Sometimes I may be too busy and have only one hand free to pick up the phone. So I' m wondering if the clamshell will be any problem and whether it’s really functional , as I’ve never had a phone with one before.
What I'm looking for is a phone with a quite good camera (not a professional one, I know I'm buying a phone), bluetooth and not having any major problems.
Also, as far as I understand Z710 comes with a better battery. Is it true?
Thanx in advance.
