Hey man,
Regarding the hard reset, I meant trying it after several months in case the device gets really laggy. So if the device doesn't get very laggy no need for it anyway. Of course since your device is brand new you should stick with the soft reset :)
What I meant with ( where I'm coming from)is that it means that you totally understand why I said this. So when I told you I like the X2 even with it's flaws, and now since you purchased the handset and experienced the same thing, so for this reason I mentioned the previous phrase :)

...Those who don't have the means should just be happy with it, but those who have the means can try other handsets...
Makes sense.
Cheers :)

Do you really think I should format it? I personally think a soft reset would be enough to overcome this 'instability' of the phone.. Maybe, every 4-5 days?
About the Microsoft myPhone.. I think I already backed my data up to it.. & the SDFix was one of the first things I do to the phone as soon as I got it :p
As far as things goes I am doing good with this phone.. Still exploring things.. I do have some bugs that I might want to address to you.. Soon..
By the way.. "I'm sure now that you understand where I'm coming from, and why I kept saying I still love my phone and I think it's fine even with it's flaws :)"..
What do you mean by that? Hehehe

Yup.. I do know that.. I think you missed the point I said: "If you have a particular phone, REGARDLESS what it is, just use it.. Get the best out of it.."
Don't be mad, I'm not saying that all of you should be satisfied with the X2 :p
What I meant was.. Any device that you are with (no matter what it is), you should be happy with it.. It has its own pros & cons.. It (should) have some flaws & lackings but also their own good & advantage..
All I'm saying is that you shouldn't compare too much since not all people have the luxury to buy & change
their phones every now & then.. But IF you do have the luxury, I'm not stopping you at all..
I have an X2, & I will stick with it.. Its not a perfect phone.. It has MANY flaws.. Many problems, maybe more than I anticipated.. But still, I am happy with it.. Despite all that shortcomings..
I'm happy for you & your Desire.. But, same it goes.. Some features or quality of it may not be what others want.. If you're happy with it, then stick with it.. Other ppl should do the same as well with their respective phones.. :)
Remember, what's most important is that how you manage your phone & its problems.. An average phone can be a great one if you manage it properly.. Don't quit too early to find a 'capable' replacement..
Peace (Y)

> In reply to Average Joe @ 2010-09-05 10:03 from PGHK - click to readHi Average Joe,
Glad to see that the X2 satisfies you. However, remember that what makes you happy would not necessarily make everyone happy...since we all have different tastes.
Remember making the comment below on the 16th August?
"...By the way, like I said a physical keyboard is important for me that's why I'd like to buy a phone which has one.. This rules out the X10 or some HTC devices.. As for the X10 mini pro, the small size is actually a drawback for me.. While I've been thinking of Vivaz pro its build quality puts me off..."
So you see, just as certain features of other phones put you off, so too certain things about the X2 disappointed some of us...and we thought it would be better to try other handsets...and i'm glad to be using HTC Desire now...Its speed and other features give me what i found lacking in the X2.
Hope you understand...but all in all i'm happy for u.
Cheers.

Well I'm really glad that so far your experience is satisfying with the X2. I mean I'm sure now that you understand where I'm coming from, and why I kept saying I still love my phone and I think it's fine even with it's flaws :)
Just remember buddy that after a while if the phone comes unstable and you encounter some problems all you need to do is a hard reset( format), just exactly the thing you would do with you regular windows computer. But trust me the backup is much easier than any pc. And as I mentioned before use Microsoft my phone for that to back up your contects, texts, calender, tasks.
The other things such as your pics, music, videos should be backed up with the memory card. And it's better to install the sdfix in order to prevent the phone from erasing the memory card by mistake.
Keep exploring and keep enjoying useful apps along with a terrific qwerty keyboard :)
Again welcome to the X2 member club :P
Cheers :)

Though this is my first ever SE handset, I have no problems whatsoever after few days of familiarization.. This is a good phone indeed, but only for those who are patient & willing to learn about it.. Inside out..
You will love this phone if you know how to appreciate things.. It will do all the basic necessities.. Yes it may be on the slow side (528MHz processor) but it is not bad really..
This is not the best phones out there.. But the best I've used.. Moreover what's the need to compare with other handsets when they're making new phones every now & then?
Forget the HTCs, Samsung, iPhones.. You will not move forward if you keep on comparing phones & saying what's good and what's not about it.. Even the best phones out there will be outperformed someday by newer models.. If you have one phone already, there is no need to compare anymore!
My advice:
If you have a particular phone, regardless what it is, just use it.. Get the best out of it.. Don't moan about its problems & think what might've been if you get a better phone or whatsoever.. Remember what made you buy the phone in the 1st place.. Every phone has its own good & advantages.. No phone is perfect, mind you..
A satisfied X2 user.

No it doesn't but you can download shazam from the market store and it basically does the same thing as track ID.
Cheers :)

Regarding the first step :
go to setting> personal > phone > band than choose gsm instead of auto, remember this will improve the battery life.
You only need to change it to auto, when you need to browse the internet from your data plan or make any video calls.
Check this site out for free apps, just remember that some of the apps may not work on your phone because they were meant for older windows mobile operating systems.
