Every thing about this phone is good except that i cant find any useful applications..especially for message

dial 1809#*900#
Others->PROXIMITY,
then you will see Current Value = XXXX
then select start calibration
then put ur finger to the proximity sensor near the front camera (just near to it dont touch it)
the value would be around 2000~3000
then u should be having no prob on it..

my question...what happen to my handphone the value show 7027 fail???

to any one having his phone freezing especially after turning screen light off, its sure because of the SIM installed. try to change it and the problem will be gone. I tried it myself and its now working very great.

LG is elegant and I paid 2000 mal ringgits for it which puts it as one of the premiere brands. I am not happy with the phone because other than the touchscreen and bluetooth features, it is really lagging behind compared to Nokia 3g and Iphone. There is no automatic reminder. If you want to remind yourself of something u have to type the stuff in the organiser and set the alarm clock. There are no features like the dictionary or the thesaurus. The display gets jammed on occasions. For the price we customers pay for the phone, we expect a lot better features from LG GD 900..

Nice phone, very elegant but i have many troubles. Display freezes so i have to close it and open it again. Sometimes closes on its own.

Nice shape and new style , has all good popular specifications ,however ; U have to slide it open when U want to use the camera .. poor battery , some applications lag big time when the memory is used in full capacity (ext. or int.) . WiFi - weak .

I loved my phone for its beauty and appeal that it catches when other ppl inquires about it. It lovely design captures anyone eyes whom are not aware of it. For three weeks my battery kept going dead by the end of the day. And after 2 weeks the battery began swelling a little and i began to digust the phone. I was anxious in getting a new phone. I ordered a new battery and it came in Friday 03/18/11 and since then i have not charged it and its still at 2 bars now. The love i have for my phone has return and i dont want to separate from it. With the battery if the output power is not constant it will cause the phone to malfunction. Get your batteries tested or do your own test by pressing and feeling the size of the battery body. IF it feels funny with inconsistencies change the battery. You will see the results. Nuff luv from Belize. Thanks for an amazing phone still. 1 year now and still jamming like new

Hi

I am using the GD900 from last 6months. Want to tell about my experience.

More than advantages, I face many issues with this.

Advantages: Ofcourse, crystal keypad, looks.

Issues: Sometimes, you cant able to see who is calling. in such cases you need to press the volume or lock buttons to wake up the screen display :(

And recently, found a fault in Music Player. The music player is not showing the Album names, instead it is showing the artist names when I select show Albums. where the user looses his interest to listen songs as per albums.

lack of newly available features (like SyncML) is also a negative aspect.

And lastly, we need to talk about the Bluetooth function. When I tries to connect the LG mobile suite via Bluetooth it is not allowing to open the internal applications (like message, backup...). LG PC suite is the worst Software I see. (in terms of connecting with mobile)

And the funny thing is, mobile require a NAP once in a day. If we didn't restart the mobile for 2/3 days, mobile will hang at some screen and doesn't respond.

So make sure to prepare for above features before buying this First ever crystal mobile........

btw, i did tried your suggested testing steps but it indicates failed when i point my finger towards the sensor. is that means my sensor is having problem? but for now, i dont have the blank screen problem anymore..

My phone has recovered from the 'blank-screen-during call' problem. i sent it the shop where i bought the phone. they said they send to the manufacturer, get some software upgrade and maybe some hardware checking..it took more than 2 weeks though but now i can see who's calling and whom i dial.

i saw lg cyon gd900 and its physically diffrent with the gd900 posted in here,its camera in front is located in the upper right of the cellphone and the cyon logo id place in fornt instead of lg,but is it the same?

it has a proximity sensor, when something is blocking it while calling the scree turn black

I have been using the phone for the past eight months and it had performed very well
The only problem I have is the none availability of its battery
in the market
Electricity supply in Nigeria is very erratic
LG phone batteries are not all that available in the market like the Nokia batteries
Pls. make the batteries available in the Nigerian market.

Hi
Had the gd900 for 12 months and still getting same problem even though phone been back to LG! When making a voice call the screen disappears so cannot close the call if not answered!Also cannot tell who is calling, blank screen again! Anyone out there solved this??? Love the phone but frustration may win the day!

It would be great if every phone with "scratch-resistant" display had that expression in the specs, so if one searches for that expression, all of them would be listed. like iphone 4 and some others. Thanks.
