> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-09-15 20:04 from FJTd - click to readjust how die hard Apple fans are happy without blutooth and their primitive version of multitasking. Just as well as paying $19.99 to remove a battery, and stuck with AT&T unless you order it unlocked (for $699.99 of course xD), along with having to jailbreak your iPhone..again..to manually unlock it.
Oh boy, it seems we have reached a worthy compromise! Freezy laggy N97 (which has already been fixed in a firmware update) vs. glossy primitive iPhone (whose problems will also be fixed...like next year).
This thread is over xD.

It has multitasking and can bt files, and that's all that matters to them, lol. And by the way, die hard nokia fans will argue with you about the n97's lag, unresponsive touchscreen, and freezing issues. All die hard nokia fans got the perfect version of the n97 that never lags and works smoothly all the time, and a battery that lasts a month on heavy use :)

> In reply to Guy Incognito @ 2009-09-14 09:44 from qbbP - click to readJailbreaking and unlocking are two separate things. Jailbreaking allows you to install and run third-party (home-brew) applications on the iPhone which are not Apple approved thus will not be in the AppStore furthermore to this you can do other tweaks to the phone's operation. Unlocking simply allows you to place any operator simcard into the phone without restriction but not all features may be used as some are network dependant.

> In reply to g4vysd @ 2009-09-15 03:29 from nFym - click to readWell as you can actually do two or three things at once on an iPhone then it's pretty obvious that it is involved in multitaking i.e. doing more than one thing at once.
Now which part is made up?
The iPhone has an OS that is capable of having native applications installed on it, it performs ALL the functions of a smartphone, ergo it IS a smartphone.
Only a reetart would think otherwise.

"If you are still not convinced it's a smartphone then explain how people are able to create apps like iBluetooth (jailbroken app that enables OBEX BT sending) or turn-by-turn voice navigation apps? On a regular non-smartphone, again like the Samsung you mentioned, these aren't possible."
On regular non smartphones there are java apps that allow a phone to access another phone via bluetooth and access phonebook, sms, alarm, reset the phone, change the language and many more. Aren't those far more complicated than OBEX BT that allows (a supposed smartphone) to send files via bluetooth??

The examples you just gave were made up to suit your own viewpoint
and they all go along the lines of playing music whilst emailing.
Shouldnt a proper OS be able to do better than that?
Most irrelevant reply ever

> In reply to Mr.Bigtime @ 2009-09-14 12:48 from muvA - click to read they just messed up on the RAM that's mostly it
they should of had 256 since s60 runs with 50MB
instead of 250
like ihphone
and it's should have been at 600 for the ARM 11 atleast but remember the update for the 5800 from 369 - 434 which is higher then the iphone 3g
no one was expection that jump so you never know it might happen in the future another update to clock speed jump from 434 to 600 and use even less RAM for 9.4 on all the touch screen phone nokia has running it

Gotta agree, I'm a HUGE Nokia fan but they are lacking in the last few years, S60 is way outdated. Maemo can't come soon enough, they should have had it released 6 months ago.
Android is getting a huge leap on Nokia and still has a few months too.

Iam posting here too. i bought N97 and very disappointed. i was thinking 3Gs or even 3G. N97 is slow, freezing, unresponsive touch screen. laggy. crap. i am feel like a BETA user. firmware V2 will fix these? Ok we will see but . EXPECTING a phone works DECENT (not perfect)out of the BOX is too much? N97 is BAD out of the BOX. i read on net that close down applicaitons and widgeds to make it run faster and better. man so where is difference between iphone and n97 interms of multitasking? i bought n97 for multi tasking and if it doenst work that way NOKIA and their flagship claled N97 is FAIL. we will see N900!
