I've found that on this phone DivX files ARE NOT totaly 100% native and are not allways recognized and playable. It depends on codec version. I've installed the mentioned "yxflash". It DOES play DivX, though choppy. Overall speed O.K ( movie at regular speed ) but looks like playing at low framerate. Same effect with MPG's. Fairly good for basic viewing.
The background for this was that I've encoded movies using VirtualDub and DivX 6.8 assuming they'll play like MP4's, but didn't. Not supported naturaly by phone. That's why I've installed yxflash.
On the other hand several other DivX movies I copied to phone played excellent, smooth and sharp. A slight investigation found these movies were encoded with DivX 5.
So, ( for myself at least ) I'm currently encoding videos with DivX 5.2.1 and these play perfectly and natively on my "spica" with no third party player or external apps.
If you don't want to bother with converting/encoding, only "Put and play", yxflash may just be the solution for you.
Please all, pass on this info. I'm sure it will help lots of people.

> In reply to filip @ 2010-03-04 17:44 from 04Px - click to readthe divx code is given only in android 2.1 version.the 8 digit letters should be entered in divx player from your computer.then you can play the downloaded divx file sent by divx and this is only for buying divx movies. normally all divx files are played well in video players in android 2.1

> In reply to jigar desai @ 2010-03-20 09:22 from PIhm - click to readYou can only transfer the data through android 2.1 but not through 1.5
Spica is released with 1.5 OS hence it should be upgraded to android 2.1 to enable that feature
