Currently in the realm of non-touchscreen smartphones Symbian is a very robust and powerful os as demonstrated in Nokia's well designed e series. In the touchscreen realm maemo and symbian will continue to exist.

Nokia is so deep in symbian that one wonders if they can ever let go.
Even samsung says they are not ready to let symbian go.

And then the 5800 is left with shabby updates i hope v32.x will have that but the update will be a big one for sure 300mb maybe
But nokia is not far back at all maemo 5/6 and N900 and the New Nseries line are and will be the biggest game changer in mobile history
I'm getting one myself
I'm a power user and security guard
So i need the GPS,qwerty for texting and writing logs and reports and to surf on the net for what fake IDs look like

and promised all that would happen for 5800... yea we did't even get kinetic scrolling or any of the custom homescreens..
we need to hack the 5800 just to get the 5530 homescreen.. wait because thats a "XpressMusic" phone rite and the 5800 isn't?
nokia whatever they were are now far behind, much further than anyone else..
even Moto's Droid looks like a contender

This brick of a phone is a tablet/smartphone hybrid so yes it will be big and the reason SPACE for the circutry so the phone wont heat up so bad ........eg. Iphone look what happened ...exploding screens and over heating batteries cause of no space inside the phone and poor build quality

Plus HTC only makes phones were is there OS ..........they don't have one cause they are stilly trying to help MS out the hole with WinMo and it's retarded OS ...the UI looks nice but
It's slow,it chugs and crashes alot,it has a High demand of RAM
And it can't display full colour 65k for how many years

Nokia should drop symbian altogether the os is s....t, they should have learned buy now there symbian OS cant be compared to Windows Mobile or Google's Android.
MESSAGE TO Nokia Corp, You make great phones but s.....ty OS, give the customer an option of WinMo, Google Andriod or Maemo.
If the N97 came with windows mobile it would have been the best phone out there, But has for me it belongs to SAMSUNG OMNIA PRO 7610 THE BEST PHONE OUT THERE.
