The almighty brand launched a super countdown with full page ad on various newspaper last Friday....announcing the official availability of the phone as early as 0000 hour on Sat...possibly one of the first to sell 5800.
The city is called Hong Kong.

Ok guys, here are the latest news regarding this phone, I'm getting mine next week, paid 355€, not much eyh? N97 is coming 2009 july-august and will cost around 800€ (estimated price is whopping 1000€ here in finland). So please stop comparing these two because clearly they are not in the same league what comes to price.

hey guys who compare nokia 5800 with nokia n97... don't you think that you're fool.... where is your brain??? nokia 5800 and nokia n97 are diferent class.. you can't compare it..... nokia n97 is high end and nokia 5800 is mid end...

why do people have a tendency to compare two completely different products..The N97 is a great phone..Wait and watch the price difference and between the 2(N97 and 5800), according to the latest info available, 5800 price is about 21k and N97 is being speculated at a price of 550USD(28k) before taxes..According to what I understand, 5800 was launched for a person who wants to buy an iphone(priced at 31k in India), and he's getting much more at a much lower price point by going for the 5800..N97 is just another class and is a iphone killer totally..

This thing is ready to go now -the N97 looks truly awesome but I don't think we'll see it until mid-summer '09 (I know they've said Q2, but it'll be the back end of that if indeed it's not late). Then, most people will need to wait a month or two for the price to reach 'non-hype' levels.
So anyone that's waiting on N97, it's gonna be a long ride (and those of us who do get the 5800 will have a head start with the new touchscreen OS)!
