This is so good, places like airports now can have mobile charging stations, some do already but always your phone isn't compatable, hotels can also have the standard micro USB

Charger portability will be a great relief to many I believe. People will surely enjoy one-to-many relationship in mobile charging :)

I personally have adopted this standard long ago, with a USB socket charger and adapters for all kind of phones.

> In reply to abdul majid @ 2009-06-30 11:42 from S35rI already heard somewhere that you might be able to choose if you need a charger with your new phone therefore may reduce the price a little

strongly welcome the initiative ,adding on i would suggest that the customers should be able to choose if they want an accessory or not in result reducing the price of the phone they are purchasing now that would be an initiative for the manufacturers to take, nevertheless brilliant decision and jobs a good one for eu and manufacturers.

common sense has prevailed, if the manufacturers are producing handsets charged by micro usb for the e.u. market, then hopefully this will filter through to the rest of the markets.

Its about time. Hopefully many more moves like these would be made soon to reduce the pollution by a considerable margin before mother earth kicks us back to the stone age.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-30 03:29 from 04$@I did thought Moto came out with micro-USB charging before everybody else with its V8/U9.

I also wonder why the almighty brand, with at least 4 times the sales of Moto, and possibly at least 4x the R&D resources, still can't figure out how to charge a phone via USB..."18+ months" after Moto released its U9/V8
