i must say the hardware is outstanding, but the software needs some work. The main problem on my nokia n97 is that it keeps running out of memmory , in short, not enough ram available, the system keeps freezing, too much errors.
This softwarehas too much glitches, it is not ready, hope the n900 delivers where software is concerned, wish i had waited for it.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-07-02 13:29 from 0CDT - click to readThe phone worked better than any other pda phones I had previously right out of the box. It didn't need the software upgrade, it worked fine. Nokia is upgrading to make it even better and laying the foundation for even more fun stuff to come. You see an action to improve as negative and comment when you haven't even tried one. You must be great at parties. I am sure people flock to be around your stunning personality. As for the processor speed everyone is whining about, if you actually tried one, you would see it is awesome and because it does this on a lower processor the battery life last forever while using wifi, internet 3g, music player and several lengthy calls during the day and never stalls, needs to be power cycled, or freezes. That's experience with the device, right out of the box. I do all that and don't have my battery bar go down a single notch. You guys keep your other phones, this thing rocks!

n97 is crappy. Worse than 5800. The firmware upgrade would not fix the following.
1. The touch is non resposive to some phone calls and hangs. No way to answer the phone
2. After such incidents the missed call alert is visible but 'show' and 'cancel' buttons not visible. The phone hangs and no way to get it working. The only cure is to call again or remove battery.
3. Phone lock key enrty is difficult at times. Touch alignment seems messed. U have to wait for minute to get it done.
4. Alerms, when executed cannot be stoped sometimes. So u have to put it under the pillow and wait. I do that. They must sell nokia pillows.
5. Search is too slow
6. Internet connection gets timed out at times. They u have to try a different addrss. If u are lucky u can othwise restart.
Can they fix all?

hi n97 user!
I had my phone for a months now, and I had also brought mine to nokia center to update the software/firmware... until now the transition effect that I always wanted is very hard for me to have.....
I have turned on the effects at the theme section but the transition effects is just a fade in black. I am looking for the widgets to swirl around the screen from portraits to landscape. please help me.
or its just theme, I have 3 default theme pre-installed on the phone but none of it has the fancy swirling transition effect.
