With due respect to all the iphone freaks posting their comments on this page, just coz they envy n97... comon guys grow up..
I bought my N97 with all acessories a week ago.. and its working absolutely well. I have used the itnernet, watched videos, used emails, listened songs, and did everything to check if everything is fine.. and the result is...that everything is fine.. just last night upgraded the firmware.. and now its even better. its faster, smooth and all fun..
One thing that makes it all together different from iphone, touch hd, and omnia is the qwerty keyboard. so guys stop comparing the phones just for the sake of nothing...

So - Nokia have re-introduced the 'Contacts: not enough memory, close some applications" error into the N97 after fixing it in the E61 a couple of years ago.
Amazing - the device has 32G Ram but the Symbian operating system cannot address all that RAM. In fact, if your contacts data is larger than 2M Bytes (my assumption since the device was only able to load 2.4MBytes of my contact database from the E61i - leaving around 500 contacts out) then the Contacts app fails!
Means you can't look anyone up to call them and you can't look them up from within SMS Text messaging - bizarre.
Even stranger is that the Symbian memory space appears to be only 27M of that 32GBytes!
I think Nokia sticking with Symbian on modern hardware is a mistake - someone needs to significantly re-architect Symbian - or the applications within it.
I bought the phone and returned the phone - the likelihood of getting this error fixed for me is quite low I think! BTW, iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS handle the content with no problem at all...

With all the problems Im reading people are having with this device and the negative reviews I wouldnt be surprised if Nokia release an N97X in the next few months to include a faster processor, AMOLED screen and better touch software etc etc..
Would make for a nice deivice!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-07-02 09:48 from PyNK"Pretendin" who the hell are you Mr Real
i'm being real, this ain't worth a 2 year wait to upgrade from N95 and certainly not from a N85
the only real i got a N85 is cause N95 8GB's USB speed was screwed up.
go to hell, i am a Nokia fan but people like you are a disgrace, Nokia did rule and it has the power to rule..
but N97 ain't nothing for a flagship, its a slick phone but thats it

Got my Nokia yesterday.
Filled it to the brim with music and video already, and even with sat nav, music and photo browsers open it copes pretty damn well, all with the transitions on!
There is so many bad words against this phone but until you've tried one (or unless you are so god damn picky) then you will love this phone. It's wowed my mates over one guys HD Omnia, and as for the "insensative" resistive screen I can easily get my paws all over the numeric pad! Compared to capacitive it is nice to apply a little pressure followed by a 'confirmation vibration'.
Well done Nokia, awesome phone without the bug fixes, better with! Can't wait to update and for the N98 which will certainly RULE THE WORLD.

When i pay so much money for a phone, then i expect that any new firmware is already updated and included.I don't pay for sitting in front of the computer trying to fix the bugs.........
Nokia belongs to the past for me.............
(And of course i didn't buy the N97).

I agree - this is meerely a software issue - nothing an update can't fix. I am a proud owner of a N97 and I am looking forward to updating mine, its not available yet for me but I can still say the phone is brilliant at what it does an I will stay faithful to nokia
