By reading your mind??? Even Nokia can't pull off this little stunt, although i bet the fanboys would have you believe otherwise...lol. Silly question really, unless you assign a name afterwards, then the call logs should get updated with the name.

When apple release a product, it's allways stable, when they release an update, it adds new features
when nokia release a phone, it's software is unstable, and when they release an update, IF they release an update, it's to fix what was broken, and it's still broken after the update

You can't predit niggle's on the masses, their test device may simply not have had similar issues. At least their trying to address the issues. The real issue is in the hardware though

Certain things you cannot even catch as any testing is limited to some environment. Did you notice some operator specific fixes? Problems are always classified based on effects and priority. No one ever changes production schedules based on minor rarely encountered issues. It is likely that new issued has been discovered since the phone went into production. The good thing that instead of hiding behind a wall Nokia is working constantly to improve and enhance things and make them available as soon as they are passing release benchmarks, so you can enjoy the best available.

At least Nokia is now updating n talkin immediate action to fix the bugs unlike before, and unlike other manufacturers. so dont even dare and say Nokia doesnt care about its customers...
FYI Nokia always takes feedback from its customers (and by its customers i dont mean you and me, i mean Nokia dealers which take their feedback from customers like you and me) and always do something about it...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is all a bit of a joke? I mean come on, people have been waiting for this kit since last November and when it finally arrives it is riddled with all these problems. Has any of the engineers and developers been fired for making these errors...probably not, they'll keep there jobs a bit longer putting the fixes correct...woh...now there's a thought!!? Do you guys get away with making such a mess at your places of work..? Exactly, you'd be out on your butt. N97.."Missed the boat already"...?

Could anyone confirm that both Caller ID name and number is saved in call log when callers are not stored in contact list?

A little too late for me! Bought this device, on the 27th of June and got all the "drama&tantrums" the 5800 exhibits on the very first night.
The phone has a mind of its own ditto 5800,the touch screen is a "Luck Screen" - if you're lucky your key-press is registered else the phone pretends it dint hear you!The S60V5 from Nokia is done up so hastily and is an absolute farce of an OS.I have been using Noks since the 3310-3650-6600-N70/73/96-E90 days and is hard to believe Nokia makes these new phones.I suspect Nokia supplies all Mobile review sites like this with a Completely different handset, else there is no explanation how the sites could just miss all there errors! This firmware update is like a pain killer for a night, thats it!Returned the phone back to the dealer on the 28th of June and picked up my old iPhone 3G which I traded for the N97.Feels like I have come back to 2009 after time warp to 10,000BC!

Waiting for the next firmware update for the grandfather of S60v5, 5800 XpressMusic..
C'mon Nokia, we know u do care to ur customer even a lil late..
Fix many things here n there especially the camera performance, snappier homescreen--add widget or widen the shortcut capacity, n a bit further performance boost, then it should be push way-further it worldly sale!
