Look for a quad-band phones if you want to use your phone world-wide.

i have added a number in screened messages and now i have been deleted that number from screened list but that person was sending me messages but i donot get her messages why?

I purchased Nokia 1661 in USA, got it unlocked officially by the service provider, hoping that it will work in India too based on the specifications. During my recent visit to India, I tried to use with a local SIM card and the phone has not worked. Do any of you have any idea on this behavior?

Yeh Just a mobile for emergency use.Has got me out of trouble Overpriced for what else is on the market for that price.
Hard to hear.
Need a new one but cant affoord it.

HATE THIS PHONE SO MUCH! Had this phone for about a week now and my God, i want to drop a rock on this piece of crap. Texting with this phone is a drag, it takes me about 10 minutes to even type a one line sentence because it lags. You are typing a word and it cannot catch up that it even just type random letters and sometimes it changes to like chinese or japanese characters all of the sudden. Battery life is worst, I would charge this thing for like 5 times a day and that is even if it's on standby mode. Nokia has disappointed me again with this phone and they should be ashamed for making this crap. There is a difference between cheap but useful and cheap that's mediocre. I would have just bought a 5110 instead of this thing. I would throw this phone as soon as I get my other phone fix.

Kept this phone for longer than I perhaps should have! Good - long standby and light weight compared with older phones. Keypress when locked displays time big and bright. Flashlight not great but way better than nothing.
Not so good - speakerphone volume much too low, keypad not great for my not-very-big fingers, what looks like a connector to pc isn't! Radio relies on earpiece for aerial.
A very basic phone that would do well as a low-use standby or upgrade of much older phone.

My youngest sister uses this phone mom bought it for her. I used it as well it was a great phone! Long life battery good for texting and calling :)

Its a awful handset ,,,, the speaker vol is very low,,, the call volume is also extremly low ,,, plzz don't buy this
