Fantastic phone for call quality, and most especially, TEXTING! I bought my first one in 2003 and bought another one, used, about 3 years ago, and I'm now, finally, going to finally migrate to a newer modern phone. This is now February, 2012! I kid you not, for 9 years I have enjoyed this Nokia 6800.
Besides it opening up to a wonderfully large QWERTY keyboard, by clicking the uppermost left button turns on the fantastic backlit keyboard. I cannot tell you how critical a feature that is, and why any manufacturer would create a phone, or a laptop computer, without a backlit keyboard demonstrates how unthinking they are. Oftentime, I am in a dark area and need the lit keyboard to see what I am typing. Love it.
I just bought a brand new, E71 on Ebay for $75 shipped. I hope I like it. I came to this site to do all my research and I know that the E71 is already dated, but I'm not in need of a $300, or more, high-end phone.

This phone was expensive. Not buying it, but paying the sms-charges!
Easy to write, great design - Awesome thing. Got the display cracked, sadly. Miss it ... if they bring out a revision i would propably buy it!

Just picked up this phone the other day in a phone lot. I unlocked it using a free unlock calculator and this thing works great! Reminds me alot of the Nokia 3300b only without the Mp3 support, but with a way better backlit keyboard. I will be using this phone until my Unlocked T-Mobile G1 comes in. 7 years old and still going strong, a Big Thumbs up!

this phone is the best texting phone that nokia has EVER made and will always be the best till they make an upgrade of it. i had two of them and they were very reliable until i broke them by accident. sad. gotta love the features it has although limited.
