I hope they have installed the new firmware.I gave it back to them because the phone was only three days old and under warrenty.i didn't want to fiddle about with it in case they made an issue over it. anyway, will see how it works out.

There is no solution other than as you say, placing the phone on a surface or in your pocket and using the speakerphone or a Bluetooth or wired headset. That's what I do and it improves things.

Hansanh, I had the exact same concern as yours before I ordered my E71. I had my E71 for almost 2 months now. I don't see any problem with the signal reception. Its signal strength is on par with my excellent N95. The 1st thing I did when I got my E71 is to check out the signal reception. I put my E71 and N95 side by side at underground parking and basement and they both turn out about same signal strength. I guess it only was during the first few production months that some E71s had reception problems. Chances are you will get an excellent E71 like mine if you order one now. Just relex and enjoy the E71.

May I know if anyone has tried sync-ing the phone with MS Outlook? Does the calendar turn out well? Thanks

I really love this phone. Excellent built quality, so many features, very elegant and it works just fine. It's the best.

I heard that the e71 has signal problems because the attenna in at the bottom of the phone so when you hold it the signal goes down but it goes back up when you put int down. I was just wondering if its true because i just purchased it and im waiting for it to get to the shop

Ok first of all, UAE 3G is 2100MHz meaning your E71 should have that frequency so you can access 3G Network. Even your SIM is not a 3G SIM you should still be able to access 3G same as 2G. Check your network mode and set it to both 3G and 2G, if it still 2G maybe there's no 3G sites installed on your area.

hi, i'm from the philippines, i bought my e71 in Macau, had the problem of hung-ups but not that frequent..possibly because i used it most of the time browsing the net and secondly probably its because i bought it in Macau(china - border, what do you expect)but i'm not sure if this one's from there or finland.anyways, im very happy with it. I'm lovin' it! Hehe...its my first choice against blackberry and iphone (they say iphone is only for those cant buy ipod,lol)...

I got the E71 for my wife and within 7 days the gps stopped working. Took it back to dealer and now waiting for replacement phone. A friend of mine also got the E71 and the same problem with the gps??. I am from South Africa and request that if anyone has the same problem and what you did to resolve it, to contact me at francoissauer@gmail.com.
