> In reply to twenttysix @ 2010-01-08 23:03 from mS05Hi! Thanks for your response.. I really love the fact that these Xenium phones have lone battery life and I've proven that because I use a 9@9z, a low-end model.. I thought it may be just be with my network but when I tried using my SIM with a Sony Ericsson, Samsung or Nokia there is a clear difference which I hope Philips has already addressed with their newer phones.. Sometimes when the volume is maximum it hurts your ears(but still difficult to understand) but when the volume is turned down one level below maximum it's impossible to understand the one you're talking to, especially when in a noisy environment.. Also texting is a labor as T9(which I don't use) is always on when I start a message, you have to turn it off everytime.. If they fix these problems their phones would sell better.. Hope to hear from you more on the call quality without a headset, just the earpiece of the phone itself. Thanks!

Hi there,
Well I must say I didn't had the chance of using x500, but I had it's predecessor,9@9k(which is kind of the same thing only in a raw design) in my hand for 1 year. As I can see from you inquiry the call quality that you're interested in, i guess you're referring to the background noise and the power of the head set buil into the phone.
What I can tell you so far about x501 is that it does have that echo on the headset(you can actually hear yourself too), when you have a phone call conversation, a part from that the quality of the speaker is quiet good.
As for the battery,.. in case you're wondering, no idea yet(is on for 4 days already and still looks 100%).. but i guess is too soon to say anythin' else on the subject.
On some other matter, that I've encounter on my x620, the x501 is not shutting off if you, lets say,... press, accidentally, a large number of buttons(at the same time) while in your pocket.
I hope that I did answer a part of your Q, and give you some other pointers on the X501 model, so far!
Best of luck!

...sorry,
not to forget,... it doesn't have a 3.5 audio jack but instead, the phone can also b used as a webcam for your PC(i found this a really nice feature for a mid range mobile)!
have fun!

Hi there L's & G's,
I've just receive this phone which I've ordered just before hew years eve. At a first look, it's just like a small black brick with nice touchy features. I went trough it and I can honestly say a few things:
- the instructions manual is only in Chinese :((;
- dind't came with a european charger(can't b that bad if you take in consideration that u can charge it trough the USB at any computer);
- the back case cover is much more secured on the phone, and the battery has 2 wings on the sides for easy removal(both features, with a + than 9@9k or x620);
- the "safe guard" is kept but renamed as "privacy protection"(keep in mind that the password for activation is: 1122);
- the "predictive dialing" is another nice feature introduced in this model(helps u find quicker the desired phone no. in the phone book);
- huge 1800mAh battery which honestly is almost as big as a SE 310, in length and thickness!;
As I have it only for a few hours this is as much as I can say about it. I promise to come back with additional things as they come up.
A good year 2 all and good bless!
