BATTERY BACKUP ???
I'm worried about Samsung battery backup...

Could you guys please tell me about Star 3G battery backup. How many days we can get in normal use? Is it better than HTC.

It all boils down to your budget... If you have the dough to pony up, definitely go for the jet... It's a buy you won't regret... Otherwise, stick to the S5600 or the Samsung Star... both are budget phones (sort of). In response to your questions...
- can you tell me why i should by this phone?
Both are sooo easy to use and have a ton of eye candy... the UI is very responsive and fun to use...
- can you install windows live messenger or skype in this phone? Nope...not windows. If you want windows mobile you'd have to go for the Omnia II, which is far more expensive...
- what is touchwiz v.2? s8003 has this feature..
Yes, the Jet has touchWiz... Its Samsungs user interface (UI)... it let's you drag items such as widgets, short-cuts and includes animations and transitions throughout the whole UI. It's better than the 1.0
- what's the difference of capacitive touchscreen and resistive touchscreen? Capacitive touchscreens are more sensitive, yet can only be used with your bare hands... While resistive require you press slightly to input a tap... However, it can be used with gloves, stylus, or any other object...
- is the resolution of the camera (both still and video) clear? sometimes even though the rsolution is high, the pictures are not good... The Jet has a better cam... 5MP and as a user I can assure you both phones render fine pictures...
Hope I could help you out a little...

*must the best mid-range touch phone in the market, but if you have the budget, the s8003 is a better pick but don't also count out the S5603.

- can you install windows live messenger or skype in this phone?
*if there is a java app for that then yes.

- what is touchwiz v.2? s8003 has this feature..
*a newer version of Samsung's proprietary OS. It is the version 2 of the Preston's TouchWiz 1

- what's the difference of capacitive touchscreen and resistive touchscreen?
*wikipedia

- is the resolution of the camera (both still and video) clear? sometimes even though the rsolution is high, the pictures are not good.. :(
* the s8003 has a 5mpx with AF so its picture quality is better than the Preston's 3.2mpx FF but for everyday use, the Preston is okay.

hi! I'm planning to buy my first samsung phone but I'm having a difficult time choosing between samsung s5600 or samsung s8003 Jet. Both seems to be great phones. But the price of this phone is quite reasonable compared to the other..

> In reply to CRAZYTECHIE @ 2009-08-17 06:47 from utxU - click to readNo, there is no wifi or jotter...
I have the phone and i replaced my w550i with this one... i wud say that do think a lot before replacing ur n73 with this one... there r small things that matter and they come in ur mind only when u have replaced the phone. for example- only 100 leeters allowed in each memo, no calender entries update at the standby screen like n73,no manual equalizer etc.. u unknowingly get accustomed to these things..
but on the other hand it is a great phone actually.. the display and voice clarity is very goood. many advantges over other phones.. and it is great at this price. but do use the phone(live models) at the shop before buying any phone..

Hi I'm from Hyderabad (India) and planning to buy this mobile. I have a few questions,
1. Is the battery backup good?
2. Is the touchscreen receptive?
3. Is the call/reception quality at par with Nokia?
Thanks to anybody for your help in answering my questions.

I brought it a couple of days ago. My first touch screen phone. I like it. Takes a couple of days to get used to touch screen if you're moving over so be patient!

Cons:
Bad screen real estate. Most widgets are too big to be placed on the screen. You need to leave about a thumb free cos you need to swipe between the 3 screens. Messaging is bad too. Probably cos the screen is too small.

I got the white one and it's very difficult to get rid of scars. So think carefully before you get a white one.

Pros:
Everything else!

Overall, a great phone :)

> In reply to Fakuryu @ 2009-08-15 21:07 from vj1k - click to read500 is not enought for me. Too bad. Sony ericsson phones can store practically unlimited number of messages. I guess i just have to skip this phone. Are all Samsung phones have this limited message capacity? I'm talking about the midrange ones.
