Hi All, bought the phone a few months ago and since a few days i am experiencing some problems? 1. all sms are automatically saved on the sim card despite the fact that i defined to save them on the memory card. 2. i can't move them from there to the memory card which would enable me to at least solve indirectly the problem, or dors anybody know how this is done?
i also experience other isues like the senstivity of the screen or the very low efficacy of the solar panels but this seems to be - unfortunately- the quality of the phone.
any help is much appreciated.
cheers!
P.

> In reply to Bas @ 2010-08-31 15:55 from 053i - click to readCheck my previous post. I had the same problems. The screen was either too sensitive one moment, then having to press the screen two or three tikes to register a press. In the end I gave up because even the official samsung repair center did a diagnosic test and found nothing wrong. When I told them there was they said that I could send the unit back but if the outcome was the same then I would be charged!
So in the end I cut my losses and traded the handset in.

I have a lot of problems with the touchscreen. It doesn't react when you type, specially when typing a text message. For me it's not possible to send a quick text message.
Does anyone also has this problem? Is Samsung able to fix it or do I just have to deal with it?

1) how does the wifi work for you? is it good? I need a phone with good wifi on it...
2) can you download stuff on it? and can you install apps directly from the wifi?
http://umnet.com/ .<
4)does it read multimedia documents, like JPEG (for images), MP4 (or any other videos from pc)
5) does it read office documents (.doc) or ebook? (this isnt that important)
6) does the solar panel actually work? or is it just for show?
7) whats your overall oppinion of this phone? is it a bargain? or should I avoid it?

Got this phone today, this s7550 is one of the best phones. Playing movies and mp3 without problems with good soundquality with base and the bluetooth-sync with a pc is great! I can recommend this phone, no limits like the limits in iPhone.

> In reply to Jo @ 2010-06-05 16:57 from R55w - click to readWell, I think the solar panel doesn't even charge the phone.
Either that or the battery meter doesn't give a true reading.
Weather under the sun for 10 seconds, or even 5 hours, the meter only goes up by one.
The touch screen has sensitivity issues which happen at random. Sent it to Samsung, they sent it back saying there is no problem with it !!!!????

> In reply to Pride @ 2010-05-08 09:37 from 0FX7 - click to readI hope you do realise that the phone does NOT via solar power when it's off. I am very satisfied with the solar charging qualities. I had a almost completely empty battery on a CLOUDY day in February and when I turned it on and placed it on a shelf on a window it remained on, and it even had the charge for 3 minutes of call then. Oh so you know what February is like here... I live in central Europe at about the same distance from the ecuator as New York city

I got it for 2 days now, and i guess the way the contacts are shown aren't changeable. Which sucks! But well..
Otherwise, it's a cool phone. I have quitew clear call quality, no noise or nothing. The phone seems to be solid, it's a bit heavy but i like that.
The solar panel seems to do it's job properly. And this is in the Netherlands. 1 hour of sun gave me quite some more time, so i think it seems to work.
I like the camera quality, sharp pics, and it works fast. havent tried it in the evening yet.
Overall, I would recommend this phone if you want a phone that doesnt damage the planet to much and still want something good looking. Cause it's quite beautyfull in my opinion.

How is the call quality? Read on cnet that they experienced faint background crackling sound.
Pride - how is your experience so far with the solar panel these few days?

Mine often needs a second or third press to work (most noticable when trying to text).

Got one in 2009 here in Portugal.
We're called a market of "early adopters", maybe that's why lots of gadgets and stuff arrive really soon.
Never saw it in the UK (I go there every month)... but then, I'm not really looking for it.

I'll need to get the battery down to almost empty before I try this.(I'll get a better result this way).
Also do you want the charge done while the phone is off or on. You get different results depending on weather the phone is off or on.
