The NEC phones are not widely available in Europe. Maybe this is why they are chosen by users, who look for design and exclusivity and don't want to pay for a Vertu for example. NEC describes their phones as "East meets West" - a combination of Italian design and Japanese technology. Three new GSM phones were presented by NEC at the 3GSM Congress.
The i-mode NEC N500iS clamshell adds EDGE connectivity to the ultra slim model line. The phone is 13.6mm thick and has 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth and 54 MB of internal memory. The WAP version of the phone is called NEC e959.
The NEC N500i model has almost the same features as the N500iS model, the only differences are the added flash and the external display. The N500i clamshell has more traditional, Samsung-like design.
These two phones differ only in the installed browser - the N412i model has i-mode, while e949 has WAP. They were announced some time ago and are already in sale, but we took some picture anyway, to show you a model, which makes Motorola RAZR look fat.
