It's mostly a piece of crap! I own one and after I have paid quite a lot of money for it I noticed after extensive testing that it has a HUGE operating system bug i.e. it does not release all the ram after having used it. The application reponsable for this issue is the CONTACTS application which is a native windows one. For instance it will eat up 2 mb and only give back one. So after 1 hour of playing in contacts, you get left with 1 or less megabytes of RAM and the phone won't even have enough ram to load the default windows wallpaper. Not reliable at all as a phone. I have replaced the firmware with one made by some russians and now that memory leak bug is gone, however it's still a windows mobile phone...and it still crashes, and still you have someone call you and you can't see it because it sometimes decides *like all WM phones to NOT TELL YOU that someone is calling. Who knows, maybe it hates some contacts off your list...or hell. Jokes aside...I am now using it ONLY as GPS and the only app installed on it is IGO 8. Even like this it sometimes crashes. The whole point of buying an operating system phone is to be able to install software, and make it more fun and usable, much like a computer. With WM phones, there is a 50% change of screwing it up with ANY app that you install. I've had it. And believe me, I am a patient person, I've had two wm phones for 2 years, I don't quit easy :)

after buying a x650 from singapore duty free, I cannot use the setup cd. How can I get a new one?

Will never buy another ETEN!!!
After 6 months of using this device, I just was thinking how can I sell it. It is very slow, the amount of free memory is around ~20 MB after clean reinstall, and if you install iGO start it and stop it, the memory drops around ~15 MB, start and stop a few more programs and then you will require a device restart because there is no free mem. anymore. The battery life is around 1 day (using the map from iGO, w/o GPS signal, making ~3 calls, vieweing ~3 times an .xls). I had a lot of lost calls because of this device, so ... it is your decision. A good mark I can give to the display quality, but is this enough?

Hi i have this, wonderful device. The FM radio is working great in Romania(if you plug the headphones in it :P) I can say it is working great but I have installed the IGO 8 gps program and I can clearly see that it needs more RAM. Im waiting for some updates, and I hope some problems will be resolved.

About Transmitter -
in some countries it's illegal to have this function, so they disable it in local firmware, all you need is to reistall firmware of different country. that's what happened to me - in ukrainian firmware - no transmitter, then i patched it to russian firmware and- here you are...
by the way i want to sell my X650, if anyone want to buy it, come and visit Kyiv. (it's 4 weeks old, in perfect shape +2gb microSD, i want 450 usd for it)

I bought this superb device two days and all seem to be god. But .. I can’t find the transmitter FM.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Can somebody help me to switch this feature on.

I've bought this device almost a week ago!!!!
What can I say...
It's slower than Xscale 520mhz, but in most cases it's fast enough.
Basically it's not good for watching movies (with 320x240 over 1000kb/sec rate).
Not good for 3d games, BUT!!!
that's nothing comparing with what you get on VGA screen (640x480)!!! Internet browsing is great!! pictures, reading, interfaces are awesome!!!
Of'course there are still a few bugs that newer firmware will fix, like- no FM playback through loudspeaker (v.258)
but generally it is very capable device if you are familiar with Windows mobile platform!!!
It can be tuned up to work with almost no lags!!! with average 25mb RAM available!!! which is good!
my mark - 8.5 / 10, because of some bugs, and samsung processor (i want to have Intel Xscale 520/624 mhz and 128 RAM - this would make it perfect!!!)

I bought it 3 weeks ago.It has a superb display.Everything runs just fine if you do not install so many softwares wich runs in backgound and "eat" memory.The big disadvantage is the small memory.If you don`t install anything you will have around 25 Mb of RAM free.The GPS is ok.GSM works but with some small bugs.You will have problems if you use services like *100#.WiFi is ok.It connects with 11Mb.Bluetooth is also ok.If you use btw handsfree you will hear some background noise,and the sound is much too strong and it will appear some noise distorsions.But if you low the volume on the phone it will be solved.The pictures are not briliant, and the movies are at slow frame rate but sharp 320.240.The battery it will go for 1.5-2 days if used with GSM.
In general, I am satisfied by this device.It looks great, thin.
If you want to run many softwares in backgound,install complicate skins and, themes and so on , I will sugest to buy an 128Mb RAM device.

I think of buying this PDA, do you think it's fast enough for casual things like mp3 playback and web browsing at the same time? i also wonder how much free RAM memory user gets///

hello! I have a big problem with my x650. when I check my memory it reports that I have only 47mb of RAM(total), not 64! and always when I close all tabs(even when I start the phone)I have at most 18mb of free RAM, even 12-14mb. that's why not only that my phone is slow,but I can't use gps-igo2006(error- memory full after I start the program).Does anyone encounter a similar problem? I didn't instal additional software in the phone memory, only on the card-I have a 4gb microsd card. thx

Love it. Excelent display(best ever),fast,small (smallest ever;iphone is thiner but much bigger),battery 1.5-2.2days 1day phone&2hours GPS,nice feeling and design,GPS is fast and accurate. BAD things: Low ROM/RAM (well,i have 4GB on pc so maybe i am a little ..:) - even so,not a big deal.Phone speaker SUCKS,it is verry poor! - that's abaut all... buy it,i recommend it.
