AM stands for AMPLITUDE MODULATION, and FM for FREQUENCY MODULATION. I don't want to get all techy and explain the difference here.. Just google it up

Technically no, because everyone prefers FM(full mad) radio. You see your choice is totally opposite, AM(anti mad) radio. So it will not work.
