Hello,
Have been using Gsmart MS820 since the past few days. The phone looks fine and sleek, though it is a bit bulky. Resolution is cool indoors, but one needs to strain in bright sunlight. It is loaded with all the features, one can think, 3G, 5MP Camera, Wifi, GPS (Sirf III), Radio, G-Sensor, Good RAM & ROM, though it could be a bit higher. Processor is 528 MHz & I think it is a bit slow for this advance phone. We can use all the programs, but there is a lag for them to load.
In a nut shell I shall describe its working.
Looks : Good Looking
Screen Size: 2.8", Though I personally feel it should have been 3.1 or higher
Starting Time after reset : 12 Seconds, if you are not loading the UI of Gsmart.
Phone Reception Quality : Pretty Good, though I feel that there is a delay of about 2 seconds, to hear the first words. But overall it is fine & I cannot complain much about it.
Hardware Buttons : Very Difficult to use them, as I think they are designed for lady fingers, It is impossible to click the camera, and if one is successful there will be a camera shake. Luckily it has very few hardware buttons.
Camera : Though the camera is 5Mp, there is quite a lot of noise, and it can no where compete with a Sony Ericsson phone.
Screen : Screen is pretty good, as it is 640x480 VGA. The response of the screen is average and with a bit of practice you could master it.
FM Radio : Not up to the mark, I mean if the signal is strong the sound quality is fine. But in areas where the reception is average, it does not pick up the boradcaset at all.
GPS : Though this has SIRF III Gps, getting a fix takes ages, about 5 minutes or more. (Nothing is mentioned about A-GPS & I am not sure, how it can be used).
Speaker : It has mono speakers, and the sound quality is good, and really excellent through the ear sets.
Stylus : Horrible, I am yet to see a poor stylus on any mobile phone. It is made of very cheap plastic, & I would recommend you to make all the applications menu driven, so that one could use their finger only.
Software : Besides the UI of Gsmart, it has a basic GPS Tracking software (without maps) and a SPB Backup (which is good, a few basic games. It is loaded with WM 6.1 Professional OS.
Battery : The battery is 1300 MAh, and with average use it could last 2 Days, but with all the research I have been doing, I have to charge it everyday. If you use the GPS the battery drains pretty fast, but Gsmart has given us a free Car Charger. Removing the battery to load the SIM Card is a Herculean Task & Gsmart should redesign this feature.
Conclusion:
Specifications wise this phone is loaded with some of the top phones of last year, For the price I have bought it (new phone) I think it is definitely worth it with all the short comings it has.
Regards,
MAQ (India)

I love the way Gigabyte displays its specification. Mobile is no longer viewed from its features. Unlike computers & laptops we have the right to know in dept detailed specifications abt a particular mobile which i guess only they have done it so far. We need to knw which chip is being used in the mobile? Whats the max speed of the mobile in mhz, battery power (not in hrs)? which gps chipset is used and the rest. M sure gigabyte will try to adopt latest technologies in its mobile and beat atleast sony in this area. Comon guys we dont want slow mobiles & those nasty hang-ups afterall.. isnt it? i mean whats the use of having 100s of features is ur running Win3.1... lolzzz doesnt it making sense here??? think think

A-GPS ist just an addon to GPS. All A-GPS devices have normal GPS functionality with the option to have a faster sat fix through a data connection.

GPS is better than A-GPS , GPS is the real one, A-GPS is assisted, using cell tower instead of satelite
