I actually think the design is absolutely gorgeous but even if you don't like it you have to recognize the effort and the idea behind that, it's actually one of those few mobile phones that actually invest in a different and exquisite design, but hey, I guess some people still prefer a ugly nokia or an iphone with a design with already 4 years (yeah, that's really innovative, right?).

For sure 2G only is a mistake:
All Huawei series starting with "U" are 3G handsets (UMTS or HSDPA). This 8300 is HSDPA 3.6 Mbps.

the design is not that bad, its eccentric... the specs r howver terrible. hw can Huwaei make a phone that only has gprs/edge... hw about 3g?
