Internal RAM at 128 is way too low unless you don't plan on adding much.

Obviously Android is getting better and better. Soon by by Symbian and WinMo, at last a free OS which will generate tons of applications. If all the big brands are working on it, it means it will be the phone standard in the near future. Except Nokia of course, still stuck in the past with its prehistoric S60 OS. Good work Google !!

The great:

-Samsung 800 Mhz processor has 3D Graphics accelerator!
-It seems no lagging (I test it on the fair and see some videos of Brazilian sites!)
-Android seems to be a little customized, but nothing like Sense UI,unfortunately!
-It is really pocketable!
-Its price is good hear (450 dollars unlocked)

The bad:

-According to Sammie Businessman, its display is unfortunatelly TFT,but capacitve!
-It still have the same lacking of features as the I7500 (despite Smart Dialling that I dont know)
-It seems to came only on the Christmas!
-128 MB of RAM + 256 MB of ROM only (but with MicroSD card slot and maybe an 4 or 8 GB card!)
-Sammie is going to release in end of 2010 Q1 or beginning of 2010 Q2,more Android and its own LiMo devices *________*!

> In reply to Omar @ 2009-10-25 10:11 from mGw} - click to readso,I think Sammie is going crazy with all this processor thing, but,as I can see,the processor of the I5700 is not an smartphone one, like the Jet,as the I7500 is,or something on that way!

GSMArena, unfortunately the display is TFT and not AMOLED,so correct this please! (Its coming first in Brazil,as I see it in a tech fair and only the display tech, camera, design and memory makes it different from the I7500!)

Comparing the I7500 & the I5700...

Can anyone tell me why the I5700 has a 800MHz processor, while the I7500 has only 528MHz processor? Does anyone know the actual name of the processor on the I5700?

Since the Spica is supposed to be a graded down version of the Galaxy, it doesn't make sense that it has a more powerful processor.

If anyone can shed some light on this, then it would much appreciated!

Again, I'm not saying that the 5800 is a "better" phone, and it shouldn't be either since it's a year old. But it might be a better phone for ME, and it has a lot of features that the I5700 lacks.
And I really don't care if I live in the past bla bla or how hip the phone is. If that was my main concern then I would had bought an iPhone. I buy a phone to use it.
And you base your opinions about Nokia on the 1100??? That's their lowest lowest entry phone ever!

I think both companies have good offerings. Allthough I haven't bought a Samsung for a while since I never liked their UIs, but I might be willing to give this android phone a shot, if it comes at a decent price and in the store soon.

This phone has the same amount of RAM as G1. It's just that Samsung and HTC count it differently (Samsung - only app RAM, HTC - app RAM + phone RAM).

In this case, I wouldnt worry. Yes, the screenres is large 320x480, but not excessibly large - not 480x640/800. And its an Amoled (less powerhungry). Finally the battery is 1500 mAh. But shure - Im all positive for a long overdue batterytech breakthrough regardless.

> In reply to Lenny @ 2009-10-24 02:46 from 3LWv - click to readfor me 5800 can't be c better than this because that comes from nokia. And going back to nokia is something going to past means not living at present. Using a nokia phone makes one feel like ordinary person because of its ugly style and difficult user interface. I have only used nokia 1100 as a nokia phone. In case of samsung music quality is far better than nokia. You can easily compare camera clarity of these brands ,and samsung is far ahead in this case. Samsung phones are more durable than any other branded mobile phones. Comparing this phone to 5800,1. 5800 does not have capacitive touchscreen. 2. Processor speed of this phone is far better than 5800. 3. Better battery. 4. Mobile tracker. It comes very handy when it is lost.

Don't know if I would call the 5800 a better phone than the Spica. It's after all one year older.
But is has some trivial features that the spica doesn't have, but on the other hand, those are features that are very important to me:

FM-radio
Camera with Flash and I use the LEDs as a flashligt a lot as well(the spica doesnt seem to have any lights at all?)
Really good audio(music is a priority for me). Not sure how good Samsungs usually are in this department.

it is much supirior than 5800
first of all this phone has amoled 16m screen whereas 5800 has outdated tft resistive one not even capicitive.
...to knw the diffrence between amoled n tft screen.
jus check this out......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FICAHsE_enE

its very sleek too 12.9 mm thickness whereas 5800 is 15.5mm wide.

l5700: expendable upto 32gb
5800: expendable upto 16gb

and the biggest diffrence is l5700 has 800mhz processor wheras 5800 has jus 434mhz processor(almost half).
