Software problems are likely to happen during its first release. Have you guys remembered the 5800 FW problem!! That was really frustrating!! The n86 had a problem after release too!! The n97 has had some problems as well!! And the Omnia HD has been released with some lack on its firmware! Besides, most problems about this phone are from networks with different firmware.

I'd comparing the color quality in both phone almost every days. no display (phone) will ever match omnia hd in term of colors.

Too often it freezes. ALmost 3-5 times a day! Only way out is to remove the battery and restart the phone again. For a product of this high price and spec, Sony should have done a better job. I am a fan SONy for the last 20 years and will think of buying other phones in the future. I am sure Sony will lose market share with such bad phones.

how can this failed device in the third rank?

i'm ex sony ericsson fan boy, but SE device is risk, not a year yet the device already broken...

I've owned a Satio for about 2 weeks now, and I've had no problems. I did go into CarphoneWarehouse, and asked if I should be concerned about the reported issues with the phone, but was told that the phones were not being sold presently, while Sony Ericsson deals with some issues. Apparently not all the phones have had complaints, and indeed, mine has been perfect.

As for using the phone, I can only be satisfied with my experience. Everything works, and often I have more than 6 programs running (smoothly) at the same time.

I've always owned some of the best and latest phones, so I can compare it to other recent phones, and it does very well. The only question is how successful the Symbian OS will be against the Android OS and possibly Maemo....which looks extremely useful.

But all in all, the camera is excellent, with the best flash I've ever witnessed on a phone. Call reception is far better than on my other phones. Bluetooth and WiFi operate flawlessly, as opposed to on my Blackberry Bold (I'm waiting for the Storm 2 now).

The people who have had problems with it, I understand that the Vodafone software did not work well with the phone, and there was the source of most of the complaints. I'm not with Vodafone, so have nothing negative to report.

just because it's from "apple" doesn't mean it's good always !!, the satio has a way beter touch-screen multimedia capabilities and a 12 mp camera !! (compared to iphone-3g's 3.2 mp.......and as for games and applications give it time dudes !!........

You said u comapred omnia with N97...u shud try comparing with a Satio...just becoz samsung has hyped it as an amoled screen...does it mean its like television amoled screens which have superb brightness and sharpness or does it mean its brighter/sharper than satio? A smaller screen with higher pixels wud always be sharper no matter whether its tft or amoled...do a search on google n u wil know wat i m saying about resolutions and display sizes...the more pixels we fit in a given area the sharper the pictures and fonts become...

Adding insult to Sony Ericsson's injurious bottom line, Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U shops (the UK's largest mobile phone retailers) have halted sales of the SE's Symbian-powered Satio handset after a high number of customer returns and complaints. A "software glitch" reportedly causes Sony Ericsson's flagship device to power down when users try to access certain applications -- unfortunately, the issue can't be patched via an over-the-air update. A little digging into CPW discussion forums reveals multiple complaints of freezes, crashes, under-performing batteries, and bizarre interface behavior. Both the Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U will offer "new phones" to customers fed up with their Satio. Richard Dorman, senior marketing manager at Sony Ericsson, concedes the issue and assures us that it should be sorted by Christmas. Until then, you can still purchase the handset directly from Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile... but really, why would you? The Satio's not the only dubiously-speced 12 megapixel cameraphone on the market.

both satio and the iphone's are gd phones and yes iphone has way more apps than the satio,but how long has the iphone been out oh yes that right yonks! give it time ppl and the satio will have just as many apart fromt eh satio looking fantastic ,it runs smooth,the pictures and video quality is brilliant had mine sine it came out with orange and had no problems yet the best phone ive ever had and yes i've had an iphone and i thought it was crap! satio all the way!

i did a compare between the omnia hd and the n97(its even better than the satio in terms of sharpness and brightness, sun legibility, ...) and i found omnia hd is fAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAar better than the N97.
theres only a benefit though, the n97's sun legibility is much better than the hd.
But indoors, even GSMArene admit that theres nothing available on the market yet can beat hd's display...

pls dont fool urself and others, believe the truth...
