u r true about it depends upon need of everyone that someone buy fiat or ferrari... but would u like to buy a fiat at ferrari's price. consider on it.

From a design point of view the phone is nothing special, just a lot of V-shaped elements and a kind of retro hi-tech look that wouldn't be out of place in a Batman movie from the 60s ie. it borders on the gaudy and ugly. Couldn't afford one myself but wouldn't bother if i could. As people have said its specs look very ordinary for all the money you pay. It looks like a very obvious pitch to shallow rich people who want to show off their wealth and nothing more. That the makers can so transparently get away with selling the phone equivalent of an expensive fountain pen (I saw one for HK$500,000) says just as much about the superficial mentality of the purchasers as it does their own one-dimensional money grab.

It's crap not because it's expensive but it's not luxury. Luxury means "the best" that most of the people aren't able to reach. This phone is not best but it's expensive so it's not reaching its goal. Think about a Ferrari with a 1600cc engine, this phone is just that....

HOLY CRAP nearly $9k on a damn cell phone, I mean the specifications of this phone aren't that great. No wlan, no video recording (3mp camera only!) and there isn't even a radio. The only reason I would ever buy this phone is because it looks very unique and great, I'm not going to lie it really looks nice.

Please understand it's an electronic gadget, not a classic time piece that deserve the attention nor the price tag. To me, it's an insult to Vertu Owners because you just don't put a nokia in your collection with other high end collectables, watches, accessories.... Would you? I wouldn't. If my garage parks nothing but European cars, then why buy a domestic to lower own standard?
