I have acer tavelmate 290 for 6 years and i am still using it. Now all my friends have acers, no one have any problem. Acer is a hell of the brand and it returns all the money you give for it. I am sure that it is the same with their mobile phones.

Companies will always come out with a bad unit one time or the other, HP, Sony, etc. Happens to all of them.
My old Acer 1692 WLMi is 5 years old now, and still works like day 1 hardware wise (except for the monitor, that has dimmed to 140cd/m^2 throughout the years).
Recently bought a 3820TG Timeline X and its possibly the most well built laptop I've seen in a long time.

I have an acer laptop aspire 6930. Its the best laptop ive owned and ive owned hp sony and dell as well. Acer has been around for a while doing computers so ? Im not sure about their phone market though its too new for me to trust

lolz, like i said, i hv nth against Acer but got the comments from friends who sell laptops. they dont mean it's drop dead bad but when compared to other brands, they do hv higher return-warranty percentage. this is supposedly due to the cheaper hardware that they uses, at least that's what i know from Malaysia.
and about the Acer brand name in phones, what i meant was that they are virtually an unknown in the phone segment. for instance, u know what u'll be getting with Samsung & HTC but an Acer? i do hope they make this good and i'll have no problem owning them when they are officially out (though i wonder will they have it in Malaysia, lolz!).... Desire HD is already available in many countries but it's only coming soon in 1 of our major carriers! ^_^

Mr. Ted,who said that acer laptops are low quality,just correct it, for your information acer are leading brand of laptops and smartphones.i think this is first phone who gives front camera of 2megapixel which android phone doesnot have, some brand are giveing front camera which are vga or cif.and one important thing it 3g hsdpa speed is 14.4 mbps which is great

The aspect ratio is similar as the LG BL40 I think. The BL40 is too long, Acer aesthetically looks better. I will choose this Acer instead of the Dell Streak. Acer should make WP7 smart phones.

Don't have any experience with Acer as a brand, but I suspect that since they bought Eten some years ago, the phones are coming out of that division. I still have nightmares from my Eten experience including horrible if not non existent technical support and shoddy builds. Maybe things have changed.

not bad.... only drawback is the snapdragon processor and the Acer brand!
btw, can any Acer phone users give some comments on Acer? cuz Acer's laptops are said to be low quality and always faulty. just wanna know is it the same with Acer's phone? dont misunderstood me, i have nothing against Acer, just the general feeling i got from others here...

Really nice phone but its too big in size 4.8. It should be 3.5 to 3.7 in size.
