I think it's a great phone, for the price: $50 from Rogers with 3 year contract.
Certainly better than the original iPhone, lots of apps, lots of useful FREE apps. Great having GPS and WiFi. WiFi vertainly keeps my data costs down.
I recommend this underated phone to all.
update to android 2.2 (Froyo) is planned (October?): http://android.modaco.com/cont...-in-october/
Great phone. Better than the HTC Dream I was using. The Phone does get warm but I would hardly call it HOT. No need for alarm. Actually the Phone does suprisingly well for everything that it is suposed to do thanks to the choice of hardware Acer chose and the down right easy to use Android OS.
Only this I miss is an actual D Pad or track ball. Correcting messages is kind of hard when your only opion is to del the whole word or try to get my finger to touch the hairline between letters.
Recomended to anyone who wants a touch phone that doesn't want a KB or an iPhone.
Acer should stop manufacturing PDa and concentarte on Laptop & PC.neither they good phone factor nor do they technology to talk. They are only follower with dirty pricing ,expensive then HTC.
Since advice stop this and get back in to the core business of IT.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010I heard that this phone's battery gets really hot. Is this true?Yes it gets so hot that phone will stop charging. The battery only gets hot when charging
I must say, coming from a blackberry curve this is like going from a comadore 64 to an overclocked liquid cooled intel I7 with 12 gigs of ram.
I love this phone, and using the speedtest.net widget i got 2.64Mbps down and 1.26 Mbps up. (basically almost 340 K/sec down.)
the phone is snappy, and the screen isn't all that bad either. All in all I am happy with my upgrade, and the phone. its 2am and I'm still playing with it.
Came here to check how much ram it had. Happy to see its 512.
I'm on Rogers.
wizard, 03 May 2010Best Android phone is by far the Sony X10how the hell is that true.
Nexus - LED, X10 - LCD
Nexus - 2.2, X10 - 1.6
Nexus - Multitouch, X10 - None
Those are just 3 key features the X10 does not have. The X10 is a beautiful phone no doubt, but dont say stupid things like its 'THE BEST ANDROID PHONE BY FAR'
Anonymous, 18 Jun 2010Has anyone bought this phone from Rogers and are using it their Fido plan? I am a Fido custom... morei went out on a whim and bought this phone. Sweet deal @ futureshop $375!!! Unpacked it right at the store and plugged the SIM in - a minute later the 3G icon was on the top bar - onto the FIDO network already unlocked and no messing with settings!!!
Has anyone bought this phone from Rogers and are using it their Fido plan? I am a Fido customer and am considering this phone, but have no idea how hard it would be to set it up for the Fido network.
Just bought it outright for Rogers... Best phone I've ever had. This has got to be the most underrated phone in the market right now.
The liquid e, atleast the Rogers Wireless version, actually has more ram then the original liquid. Its 512 RAM and 512 ROM, i guess besides the upgraded software thats the difference, perhaps 2.1 ran better with more RAM?
I plan on getting this phone, anyone have any reviews on the battery life?!
Has proper englsih been totally thrown out the window now? I mean if your going to type something use full words that fix together... I mean really. Punctuation? Ah who gives a crap but when someone is reading something and can't piece the words together to make a full sentence whats the point of even posting something? Atleast with full word sentences and crap punctuation people can still make things out... But I mean where did the english language go?
blackberrian, 18 May 2010yes,im totally agreed with u my fren..smartphone always require battery usage..the more u use ... moreWell to save more power just turn off your 3G and than you will be able to save more battery or if not than use your ear fones for music instead of speakers lol

Anonymous, 06 May 2010I have Liquid A1 (Android 1.6) and have seen some leaked 2.1 ROMs (supports multi-touch). The ... moreyes,im totally agreed with u my fren..smartphone always require battery usage..the more u use the faster the battery to drains..but most pple didnt u/stand this..i feel pity for them..they need to study..
I have Liquid A1 (Android 1.6) and have seen some leaked 2.1 ROMs (supports multi-touch). The battery is 1340 mAh, which is about average depending on usage. Longest I've had mine without recharging was 5 days, but that was very light use and turned off at night. I can also drain the battery completely in 1 day if I'm using it nonstop too, which is about the same for any smartphone these days.
