Yes you can, I tried it using Google Maps. But it is very very very difficult. Then I change to Waze, it was pretty easy to rotate and zoom.

Have you tried changing the channel of your Wifi network? Channels set by default in Wifi routers are often overused. You can try the Wifi Analyzer app to visualise your Wifi environment. Changing your channel is most of times done in the web admin...
