i wanna ask if the tcl support arabic language or not because i some times recived or sent... moreI can't really tell you if it can receive / send them.
On TCL version, you only have English and a few Asian languages available for Android system.
I know some people installed some app called "more locale" to get support for more languages within their apps.
But my wild guess, would be sending/receiving in Arabic should work : for sending you only need to have an Arabic keyboard or download the missing language for google's. For receiving, I don't think it would be a problem since it's only messages basically. But maybe i'm wrong and Arabic would need specific extra fonts and characters encoding for messages.
Sorry

Sam, 23 Aug 2013@Vishnu yes, ur right.. just that tcl has chinese apps which i dont want.

Yes, i was able to root it easily. There are "eroot" or "vroot" for that (2 chinese software) working well for its JB 4.2.2.
I got all updates OTA. But in case of any problem, you can also install "TCL Updater S 2.7.9" which formats and reflashs your phone with latest firmware each time (it's on TCL website, www.tclcom.com).
The phone is about same size as my S4 (and previous S3). If you never had any 5" phone, it's the limit for a jeans pocket. I have big hands, so i can handle it easily with 1 hand on portrait mode (only top status bar can be tricky sometimes with my thumb only).
No problem if i can help, it's really a great choice for buying while waiting new phones based on 8 cores Mediatek for october.
After 1 full month now, i can say its plastic is good, 0 scratch on it despite i put it everywhere (floor, tables, jeans, misc objects). Display is protected with dragontrail. GPS, BT and Wifi work fine. It's fast and trouble-free, you won't regret it being TCL or Alcatel version.
My tip : in developer options, enable Hardware gpu rendering to get smoother graphical apps like gps (Sygic)
is this phone even existing .. they dont sell this kind of phone in my country though alcatel has been updating their phones in my country dont know why
