Bought 217D and it would not charge. After a few seconds showing the battery charging it would display "charging error". Just received second new phone and it is exactly the same. Anyone have the same problem or am I an idiot ?

Reset for Alcatel ot-217
1.turn off the Alcatel
2.first turn on key and # together
3.After that you get 2 option green and red, press Green

I want to make security lock but the phne ask me for original phone security code and I don't know it .

Hello - press the centre key and choose settings (the little cog) then 4th option down, click OK then the 1st option is languages click OK to enter and English is the first language! Hope this helps - let me know if it doesn't :)

Hi really a good phone but need to change the battery in to 650 or 700 Mah as battery sucks

very reliable phone. this a good basic phone. there are no games however as oppose to what is stated in the specifications here. the only negative side is that the keypad is a little stiff and is annoying because of the sound it creates when typing.

the headset sign just keeps blinking on and off and I can't make calls this sucks I have no idea what is happening to it and i've had it for only 3 months

bought this as my back up phone, the keypad is a bit stiff to press but you can manage to compose messages, there is no sent items folder, ring volume is low, screen is good, signal reception is a bit poor. better buy nokia 101
