Diamondus have you heard of I-mode? I-mode is available in most European countries and Mitsubishi is one of there suppliers so its certainly a well-known brand... and if you check the Mitsubishi m21i/m320 out you will see...

OT531=M320, same hardware, same software except the pictures and the stickers. It is called 'customisation'. To my knowledge, M320 is available in Portugal and Spain, and the OT531 in other european countries. Nice phone with great features.

Well-known Mitsubishi? :) Maybe in Asia. Trium/Mitsubishi is not a popular brand in Europe. This will be good for there. Anyway, the original 735 has much more features. So that's all of the "well-known" Mitsubishi. What IS your problem with Alcatel? Everybody thinks about OT db if they hear the name Alcatel. That's not good.

this is an ODM model instead of OEM model from Alcatel. I believe the reason Alcatel decided to ODM this product from Mitsubishi is seeing the good potential of this particular model. Mitsubishi mobile phone products is not widely available and in some countries Mitsubishi phone is not available at all. This is where Alcatel comes in to represent Mitsubishi products.
