After software upgrade, this phone improves performance. I recommend all users to update it.

> In reply to HAJRA @ 2010-08-14 18:17 from mpi8 - click to readYeah, it works like a charm, I remember the guy from the store who told me that this phone was crap and that I should take a nokia or sony ericson for what I was looking for, listening mp3...
In the end, i got this phone with a 2GB microSD card and with some prepaid credit on it.
This phone is the best deal for a prepaid phone replacement, the mini opera browser (a java version downloaded from the Entertainment icon) does suck actually. Also I still can't connect with the Alcatel PC Suite software properly, but is not a must. The USB 1.0 cable is not that slow 800 KB/S.
It has not games, but i guess the CPU is to slow to handle anything decent.

You get for what you pay. If you hope to get a lot of things paying less...you're wrong... I'm very happy with my Nokia 1209: I got much than what I paid for it...

Does this phone support stereo bluetooth, cause i want to replace my old nokia which doesn't have it, and because listening 256kbps mp3 in AM radio quality does suck .

Had phone for nine months. Touch screen not working so can't get at any of the apps and what's worse can't download contents on to PC before sending off for repair when it will be wiped!! Not a lot of use when touch facility goes west. Will this see the end of touch screens?????

Well, having given it a good review a few days ago, I now find myself in the same position as several other users, viz. the phone has just stopped responding to touches. This makes it useless - I can't even answer a call, let alone make one! I'm going back to the dealer today to demand either a new phone or my money back.

I've had this phone a couple of weeks now and am very pleased with it. It's a very cool piece of kit. Only three quibbles:
- I can't get the software updater to work. One stage 2 it gets about half way then just hangs. Not that this matters as I have no problems with the existing software, but it is a tad annoying.
- When texting, the OK/Send button is too close to the caps lock key. I've managed to send several half-finished messages because of this.
- If switched off, even for a short time, the phone forgets the date and time.
That's it - I would give the phone 9 for design, 6 for features and 5 for performance.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-05-28 22:51 from mqR2 - click to readDisconnect the phone, then reattach it and choose the COM port option. This will enable the PC suite to connect to it. However, as it's treating it as a serial device communications are slow and if you have media files to copy to the phone then connect as a USB mass storage device instead: it now appears as a drive on your computer (actually two drives, one for the phone memory and one for the micro SD card) and you can copy the files directly at USB speed, which is far quicker.

> In reply to mimo @ 2010-06-20 04:32 from NhR3 - click to reade-buddy/windows live: no.
applications/themes: in principle yes, but there is currently only one application available to download, viz. Opera mini. I hope Alcatel will add more, especially games as the only one built in is rubbish. I suppose it should be able to run most java games - has anyone tried this?

> In reply to gaz @ 2010-07-10 12:53 from 3xB3 - click to readIt does fit - it's just a bit fiddly. You need to pull the holder towards the top of the phone with your fingernail. Then place the card in the micro SD-shaped outline that is revealed. Finally, close the holder again. You might have to try a couple of times.
