Momo: Read the chapter 8.8.2 of the manual there is a smalls section explaining where in the menu you can costumise the external display.

sorry to interrupt, but I think alcatel needs to check for some of the debugs on their phone software, in some instances the phone would be scanning for the musics on my media card what was surprising it doesn't have the system to compare the names of the songs saved, some of the songs would be played twice, plus there is no consistency in the software installation when using an alcatel phone for only 6 days, it's prone to hang - up some of the images in some of their units seems to be look untidy or rather to say unfinished, good to have a replacement for the first unit that i've had that seem to have a software deffect.

in general please improve the softwares and the mobile hardware it needs alot of more attention than having a nice looking phone.

The phone can play 3gp and mpeg4 video files (if they do not exceed the screen size to much, so converting or downsizing might be needed).

may i know how to use its webcam functions?i tried to connect the usb to my pc and my unit then mass storage,webcam etc.appear but wen i chose webcam it didnt worked out only a display of a webcam in the screen but its webcam doesnt function......wat will i gonna do?also how can i set the phone into flight mode?

pls help.....thanks alot

Hey guys this phone was really a great, i like the built-in speaker, the image quality was fine, with a micro-sd memory card a maximum of 1gb, never tried the software yet, but one of the thing that makes it nasty is the cover of the usb port it could easily break if your not careful while using it, What I also hate about this product is that it has no system to automatically detect the head set, so far not yet found how to configure this thing so that I could use the advantage of it.

Before the first time you use the software, u must turn off the phone and connect it to the computer. Then the pc will read it as Mass Storage device. Now u have to disable hardware, disconnect the phone, turn on the phone and, finally, connect it to the computer. Then, it will work properly or you still have to go to the software settings and choose the correct port.
It was hard for me to figure this out... I always try not to read the manual, but in this case this is a must.

One thing that's preventing me from getting this is the proprietary earphone/headphone. As mentioned somewhere here, if this had the normal baby stereo jack then it I wouldn't doubt for a second!

Momo, you can dissable caller ID in the menu, it is all described in the manual.

may i know how can i set the phone in flight mode coz the details in the manual is not complete....and how can i make the folder for music so i can sort it according to my faves

i bought this unit last sept.9 only but on the 2nd day i noticed that something is wrong with the phone.....take note it was brand new....but the worst thing is wen the airplane in the heliminator game doesnt appear and sometimes the phone hangs that why i forwarded the phone to the service center o n sept13..but until now the phone is not yet in my care...this is my 1st time to try an ALCATEL phone and i was disappointed....i like its features but the quality is low...i hope to hav my phone as soon as posible

hey all
i bought this phone yesterday and it's fine it's price really gr8 and it has alot of pretty options but...i want to ask the ppl who made it : there's something called "privacy"
when i'm talking to some one his name is displayed on the outer sub-display has anybody noticed that??
i was talking to a friend when my brother asked me who's that friend's name??? looooool i was shocked. can any1 tell me how to cancel this ???? i tried alot to find it and found nothing
