A good feature of this phone is that the video camera is unlimited and can just keep on recording until the memory card is full. Most other phones don't allow this, so this is a great feature for an alcatel. I hope to buy this phone real soon!

Should be "Entry"..or maybe "Enfant"?? Had being using 5 Alcatels so far, never used any other brands coz i don't need to. I have all i need, with good price, design, features that i really used and also reliablility (some models' batteries are poor though). OT-C717 should be my next phone..

If there C series stands for comfort and their S series stands for smart.... Then what does their E series stand for?

A good feature that would push alcatel to the top mid end mobiles would be EDGE capability. And maybe they should start making Tri or Quad band mobiles, instead of the ordinary dual band.

This phone is also meant to be available in black aswell as brown...www.cellatel.com... there is a picture of the black version on there. In my opinion the black version looks much better than the brown. Hopefully this will be available in the UK soon for a good price.

Exactly Jonathan! Alcatel can offer you a perfectly good featured phone for a price you will need to see to believe. This phone will be no different. Plus Alcatel does not make pretentions, they clearly state this is a C-class phone C as in comfort, the new S-class S as in Smart will be the packed phone for all of us spec geeks.
Also... Alcatel is clearly ahead in one area of the mobile phone game. That's design! They always have some cool flashy fancy and just plain good looking designs. Unlike some brands...

Looks like a nice phone. Ppl, Alcatel is trying to make buget-oriented phones, not N95 style. So if u want something that is nice n simple, this is a god choice in my opinion...

Alcatel is not dead, Alcatel just went to form an alliance with TCL. The phones are still largely designed in France and developed by the French but its being built and marketed by the Chinese. To combine good features (in the future) with a very good price.

the story is this:Alcatel's mobile phones had being losing money for years, so they sold of this arm of their business to TCL to form T&A Mobiles. Alcatel themselves bought over Lucent, and are now concentrating on their core businesses like selling communication equipment and cabling etc etc. Alcatel-Lucent is a huge company, but T&A needs years to consolidate..only now we are seeing the fruits of their union.

Alcatel builds gsm network all over the world, so they really have the technology even 3G! but there's big question : they're late in releasing new models, why? Alcatel have everything in their hand. I can't understand it
