i think the phone's design is perfect but the battery life is very very poor.

I think that alcatel has got his special NICE design, I pick 9 out of 10. Features: only messages and calling but it as a mobile phone not a camera or mp3 player co I put 8 out of ten, because OT-E158 hasnt got a loud speaker. Perfomance 8 out 10 again. In Poland you can bou it for about 30-35 Euro whith 24 months guarantee. Battery life (which is good formated) from 4-5 days, sometimes 6 days, when Im calling much more I have to charge it after 3 or 4 days. Easy mobile with normally features! :D KEEP BUYING IT!

Very bad batery life...only 4 days in stand by...when i talk intensive the batery goes down in about 1 and a half day.

feature-for-feature this phone is even expensive than bird s199 at US$58...physical looks is an additional US$18 which doesnt make any sense in cellular utility.

i know of two persons who bought an alcatel phone from our local operator here in the philippines that conks ou after only 6 months use. And when they took it back to complain, the operator told them that there were a lot of people like them that have same problem. The operator nowadays do not carry alcatel anymore. that was more than five years ago i think. So don't wonder if alcatel sell their phone cheap as compared to other. it's made by tcl, i believe. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by it cover.

alcatel is the best cellphone maker in terms of designs...but worst in terms of features........in fairness they make phones very affordable....

i love its design but i hate its features..this is already available in the philippines for only Php.2,990 at all smart wireless centers.

i disagree, it has a rubbish off shore signal and if you get it a littlt bit damp, it is useless!!!!!

There definitely is a space for a monochrome display phone, because the present ones look dated (except Sony Ericsson, but it is an old phone). This is to be for talk and occassionl sms, no fancy stuff. I like the design. When is this one going to be available in India and for how much, any idea anyone?

this is da best phone eva mon!, it was like 1 massive april fools. get this phone and press "1,5,5,2,8,8,9,5,4,4,left,left,right,up,up,down,0" before turning it on, then turn it on and hold the on button in untill it plays a tune..., now go into ur menu and check out what ya got...
