can i use an mp3 file from the card as a ringtone... or is it possible to put an .jpg file as desktop on my phone? pls answer...

Took a while to find the Alcatel website but found it: http://www.my-onetouch.com/ there's no user guide but there is an MP3 converter and PC Software to download.

People, for all of you trying to use this phone and put music on it, first activate the usb connection on the phone and also check if your memory card is configurated and formated... or else... OFCOURSE it will not work!
The only way to "send" music to this phone is through usb.

Hi... A question please... how can I activate de engineering menu? In older OTs the code was 000000* but doesn't work for this one :(

I got my white colour 'exclusive' OT-E801 from woolies for 19.99 with 64MB card only, which is less than some others. To be fair it says expandable memory* i.e. - memory card required.

how are the ring-tones? and the sms-beep? how is it to write sms's with? i had the ot511 and i loved it. the battery was totally good also after 4-5years (it kept together with electrical tape but still)..are the letters all toghether or do you need to switch language as soon as you want to write with other caracters? if you are not using the T9-function i mean.. can you customize it a lot? and how are the wallpapers? i would so like to know!

I have to admit this phone has an excellent mp3 player. Purchased a cheap 1gb sd card and i am well away. I bought my wife one and liked it so much i had to have one.
I did initially have a problem connecting my pc to the phone, but tried my laptop and it connected. Not sure why this would happen

my phone aint working
i put it into the computer with the usb
i went to activate and the phone said failed
so i downloaded mp3 converter and it still says failed
help me please

had to get the sd card formated. woolworths the gits asked me if i had a friend who had a card reader to do this. does not come with the converter to format the sd card. lucky i found a shop that could do this. still had to make my own mp3 folder to get the mp3s to play. this was an xmas gift for my kid, he was most gutted. got it working in the end. odd how the phone does not format the sd card as soon as you put it in, most things do.

well i've found this phone to be the worst i've ever bought-first we couldn't download music & now it keeps sayin sd card not inserted when it is!not good.
