As far as I'm aware prices haven't been released yet so how do you know it's going to be amazingly expensive? It could turn out cheaper than the N95 or LG Prada.
As for paying out expenses for breaking the screen or whatever, that's what the warrenty is for and if it's not covered by the warrenty common sense should tell you to take out insurance for a phone like this.

it maybe the ideal phone for sommebody who does'nt have a problem in throwing away monney...you should consider the posibility that you broke the display...i'll see you happy then....and if you have the monney to buy this phone you will shure have the budget to buy a HTC Shift wich is 30 times better than this one

I personally think this is going to be a revolutionary phone. Yes it will have its qwerks and faults to start off with BUT what revolutionary phone doesn't?
The features of this phone go far beyond what is written on GSMarena and features such as rotating a picture on the screen to fit the angle you are holding the phone are very nice touches from Apple. No it doesn't have a 5mp camera as the Nokia N95 does but why would you need one? 2mp is just fine for me personally as I'm not going to use it to take proffesional pictures to put in magazines or anything.
The only downside I can see is the amount of time Apple are going to take to release this phone. 6 months I can wait but any more and I might just find something else that catches my eye :)

well i think this phone has a really nice screen resolution. but "slide to unlock"??? wtf is dat??? when you put this in your bag, purse or watever and there are other stuff that happen to slide through the screen.. then it will unlock and do all kinds of stupid sht. and scratches are almost impossible to prevent.. unless u wanna use one of those ugly covers. well.. i aint hating on the iphone but i think dis thing is a high maintanance phone. one of those phones you have to like care like your child.. well i aint fr sure.. but lets just wait and see :)

I couldnt wait till I got this phone..and now I wished I did..never ever ever again...My Ratings, Touchscreen 2/10, Phone (Basic), Software 5/10, camera 2/10. Phone costs $43 to produce, Nokia n95 $112.
Apple ipods, laptops real good....phones are def not Aples strong point. Way too expensive, over rated. For those who want to get one of these please please play with this phone for 20mins, I absolutely guarantee u'll walk away with no sale.

No point in getting this when it first comes out. Why? First off, 8 gigs is way too little for all of the things you're supposed to be doing for dropping $600 on this thing, and in a year there will be 16 and 20 gig iterations. Not only that, but a 2MP camera is weak for a phone supposedly this amazing, and there's only one camera. It runs off of OSX but no ichat from your phone? No conference calling? BS, there will be that in the 2nd iphone, don't even bother getting this one but no one will listen, who cares.
