It blows any other games on phone's into the dust.
Notice how when people whine about iPhone games they all resort to comparisons with dedicated gaming consoles, that's because the iPhone lifted mobile gaming to a whole new level.
Maemo?
Well Linux has always been crap for games.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970New os (actually not new) and offer what apple not allow ! Maemo is the king
Nokia has fixed the touch uI with maemo and bring computer power to phone! Will apple make
imacphone
The future of iphone is not bright!
it is killed by apple themselves

There is a video of a guy comparing the 3G and the 3GS to show the speed difference of the 2 models, the 3GS is considerably faster. Some people may see this a huge upgrade but there are still those who only use the phone for basic functions. Personally I was hoping it would bring better games to the table, seems it hasn't though.

All those f00ls who think their is not much difference between the 3G and 3GS obvoiusly know nothing about ARM processors etc
There are major differences under the hood and the OS update brought over 100 new functions to the iPhone.

It's like that Simpson's episode when Lisa designed that doll. Malibu Stacey was the most the most popular doll, she had alot of features and was very pretty to look at. Then Lisa's doll came along with more realistic funtionality and people were excited. But not to be outdone by another brand, the folks who make Malibu Stacey released a new doll at the last minute with a new feature - a brand new hat!
I wonder what feature Apple will bring with the next iPhone. A qwerty keyboard? A 5mp camera? A hat maybe? Who knows! The possibilities are endless!

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970As I mentioned previously, since there is an iPhone for every budget your theory of people not being able to afford the iPhone is pretty much thrown out. When you come to an open forum such as this there will always be forum trolls who come here to flame and be flamed. This is the internet, not a virtual world where everyone holds hands and braid each others hair, whilst sitting around a campfire telling stories.
One thing I will admit about the iPhone is that it dramatically reshaped the idea of a perfect phone. It paved way to the time of the touchscreen, web browsing and applications for every need. Without the iPhone we may not have had devices that can offer us much more than phone calls and SMS's. That being said, IMO I am not a fan of the restrictions Apple set upon the developers, such as what will be allowed in the App Store and what will not. I also jailbroke my iPhone so I could have more options with Apps and such, however I still wasn't 100% happy so I traded it in for an N97. I do not reget getting my iPhone it bought me many hours of joy and entertainment. However, it is just not the phone for me any more.
I cannot speak for my fellow trolls on here, but personally I come here for the enjoyment of reading arguments and flame wars by other posters. Even a few simple words like "iPhone is cr@p" never fail to start a war of words with the keyboard warriors so firecly over-protective of their beloved phone.
Much expensive than nokia n series phones
Utter rubbish in a black and silver casing.
More limitations then a maximum security jail cell.
Less usable features then a calculator.
Rich in price and poor in quality.

Your information is very out of date and is wrong.
32GbFREAK, 17 Nov 2009hahaha.. u r right ann.. most people here could be categorized into two groups. the iphone lov... moreFYI in Australia the iPhone 32GB is in most cases the same price as the N97. Imagine that! The 16GB is available for free on lower priced plans as well. There's also the 8GB 3G available for those who can't afford the 3GS models. Since there is an iPhone for every budget, it kinda blows your theory about only rich people affording iPhones.
You need a new argument!
Dhazza, 17 Nov 2009hey there, Iphone (and Mac!) newbie here. Got a question about my Iphone that maybe you techie... more... A phone dealer helped you jailbreak your iPhone? Where do you live? As far as I'm aware since Apple do not support jailbreaking in any way, shape or form dealers are not in any way allowed to promote it. Therefor, it seems to me impossible that a dealer would help you jailbreak it, unless they were not an authorised dealer.

iphone, 17 Nov 2009what is jailbraking?
is it good thing to do?
is it true for the new iphoneJailbreaking is good if you want to enable some smartphone-like features.
BUT!
Many have reported bad signal and call drops after it.
The fact that you can only install apps from the iStore is made to keep you safe from viruses by checking the app.
iPhone has no platform security so any virus will make you send your device back to apple for flashing (total format)

$1.6 Billion... moreHere's how we like them aples:
The truth about the so much denied and contradictory financial results of apple:
"Apple dubbed the laid off salespeople "full-time equivalents," reporting a headcount of 14,000 Apple store employees. That's slashed from the 15,600 number listed in its 10-K filing just last January."
The ever increasing profits of apple are nothing but advertisements, since no correlation can be made between the sum reported by Apple to the givernment and the one reported to the press.
Just google "statistics/world/manufacturer/apple" with quotes and see what a small drop iPhone is in the ocean.
Apple, as well as they might try to hide it, has very small anual profit rates forcing them to fire more than 10.000 employees every year!
This is also the reason why iPhone isn't actually made by apple but by FOXCONN: http://www.betanews.com/article/Dying-for-an-iPhone-Questions-raised-by-the-Foxconn-suicide/1248371905 this explains the reason why the iphone that costs ~150$ to manufacture costs as much as 1200$ if you're to "get it free" on contract and also why apple is the only company that allows paid thethering from AT&T on their device!
"Skating on stellar increases in iPhone sales, Apple turned in its "best non-holiday quarter" in history from January through March. Now, an examination of Apple's 10-Q filing by Betanews reveals that overall sales for Apple stores shot up, too -- albeit only to the tune of 2 percent, or $58 million -- between the first six months in Apple's respective 2008 and 2009 fiscal years."
"Apple would "incur substantial costs if it were to close multiple retail stores and such costs could adversely affect the Company's financial condition and operating results," company officials conjectured."
So how come the sales of 3GS suddenly rocketed, while most users don't find the differences between 3G and 3GS as justifying the price? EASY! apple advertises fake income numbers so that naive users that buy fancy for popularity actually believe apple is a success... whereas the truth is the company barely keeps afloat firing tens of thousands of people every year!

Things are only getting worse for apple in Q3 2009, as Apple has it's device replacement program, it seems the only users interested in the 3GS were the ones already owning a 3G. Although many sites report the replaced devices as new sales, Gartner has placed Apple in the "OTHERS" category, since it was not able to keep up with top companies like Nokia, Samsung, Motorola or Sony Ericsson. Unfortunately compared to the boom registered by the iPhone back in 2007, it's market share has only been able to rise by 5% compared to Q3 2008. We would have expected a little more since 3GS is clearly superior to it's predecessors but the truth is the competition has been it this game for a while longer and Apple still has a little catching up to do, to create a full featured smartphone.
This is also in concordance with the low interest on GSMArena, where iPhone does not manage to score in the top 15 models or Apple in the top 7 brands; as interest, the iPhone bareley reaches above Sony W960 gaining a modest 11th position.

To stay in business Apple simply wiped out the Research&Development department back in the 90's (wich partly explains why it's devices are built by Chinese contractors) and gave out to Microsoft about 150 millions worth of stock, for helping them not to go broke back in '96-'97 - the actual value of Apple's stock was 20 to 25 US dollars.
Knowing how low the stock value of a barely floating company, probably those 150 million have now turned to billions as the stock value in 2009 was 230 to 250 US dollars.
Main thing why Microsoft doesn't pull the plug (because let's be honest when a company fires thousands they're far from doing as well as apple claims) is because Microsoft has their own software selling on Apple/MAC and a fair share of it. So the better apple is doing, the better Microsoft is doing.
Because of the bleak financial situation, Apple can't afford to depent on neither Intel nor AMD anymore and decided to invest the profit made with iPhone into chip manufacturing once again, a mistake that has cost them dearly before.

This is the information Apple desperately tries to hide from us all and it's a thing quite hard to find on the internet these days, as is real feedback over their products.
Steve Jobs, the CEO and main animator of apple has been operated on a few months ago for alcoholic cyrosis! I am glad he is better and he has to be since he's the only thing that stands between apple and doom.
But really, is that the attitude of the CEO of a winning company? Alcoholism? Firing almost 30.000 employees in less than a year?
Quo vadis Apple? Will Microsoft save you again this time?
what is jailbraking?

is it true for the new iphone
