Just few points to say here...it's funny how everyone is so excited about their iPhones, but like me using it for a year is not what you think your phone would ought to be. And now that my battery is out of it's life span, apple has told me to fork out $270 for a battery replacement, because my phone is out of warranty. When if you buy a Nokia mobile, you need to only spend aud $20 on a new battery from the local shops.
Now who wants to still buy an iPhone aye?

If you try it outside the UK it tells you you aren't authorized.
I rejected the iPhone from day one - I was a Nokia addict for 10+ years - why was I so stubborn? I don't know but now with an Apple 3Gs phone in hand I shout it out to the world - you can take the phone from my cold dead hand. It will take a hell of a lot smarts from Microsoft to get anywhere near the usability of the iPhone and with over 2 Billion+ apps downloaded from the App Store they have a lot of catching up to do.
The only thing missing is a radio, and in the future a TV? Who knows what those smart people at Apple will do next.

Anonymous, 15 Oct 2009sorry to tell you, phones dont dream!Phone manufacturers do just like they dream of figures like this:-
the fact iphone has smart wifi connection is good............even without data plan...........
Lets face it guys.. there are worse phones with wackier prices.. like the ones featured as million dollar phones with nothing but most basic text and call functions.
Price and features is RELATIVE. everyone cannot like the same phone !!! the screen, music and touch of the iphone is the best but features and camera are not. SO WHAT? everyone does not require the same thing !!! I have personally purchased the 5800 but i still think iphone is a stunner in looks. I need a little more on features and am more comfortable using Symbian (and have used Win Mo and Mac).
Why do we have to fight.. use this space to genuinely address queries of people who need help.
And again.. anything you compare should atleast be the same generation !!! why compare an N900 here !!! its new... wait for an iphone successor, check the target market and compare if in same price, generation and aimed at the same target market. e.g. says a W995 and a 5800 or an X2 and a Omnia HD... how can you compare iphone with an OMNIA... do you know how many bugs were present in the first Omnia let alone the features that were supposedly present and did not work? you could not download ringtones !!!
All in All.. do not compare devices just for the sake of it. Am a nokia user myself but all you iphone users, i respect you all and the phone..

Apple will release their Quarterly figures soon which should show roughly seven million iPhones sold, figures the 5800, N97, Omnia HD etc can only dream about.
The App store has over 90,000 Apps and it's increasing every week, top titles like FIFA 2010 are being released along with thousands of others.
Yeah, it's a big fail people will come along and read the stuff you post here, they'll see what their friends are DOING with iPhones and they'll go and get one.
I looked at the iphone 3GS and had a demo of it, the only real nutter I have is its quite sensitive to touches and finger positions, but overall its quite good since I had the same problem with phones anyway so its not a new thing to me.
It was quite fast too didnt take long to load apps and the use of it is reasonably straight forward obviously a learning curve is there but most phones have that with how to use and navigation.
i dont want to keep the argument going but how can you honestly compare the 5800 an iphone!! It just doesnt make sense.
Again without trying to wind you up I would buy a 5800 for my daughter thats the type of market they were made for.
If you really did have an iphone why would you trade it for a 5800.
But if you like it fine but you dont really need to keep posting here do you.

As for having/not having I had the 3g and compared to 5800 it was lamentable, as proven with serious points, the device is unfinished.
I didn't bash anything by discussing specs didn't I?
Why discuss specs and compare to 5800?
Easy, stop coming at the n900 section and lieing!
I just presented bare facts, if you come to visit (why come when you're so happy with the iphone?), post facts aswell.

What's vague is your mentality. Before the 1st iphone was released, Apple stores already had iphones displayed for demos for the public. So yes, those who lined up have more than likely already tried it out and that's why they were excited. I couldn't relate to those people at that time because I was not interested on the iphone, and I have not tried it out, and I had the n95 at that time.
The first iphone already had safari silly. It was already a multimedia device.
Huh? The n900 does have a slide out keyboard, lol, and it is a maemo device, lol. You seem confused, lol.
So what is the point of this section!! People with iphones love them which is great but it seems their are more people posting here who dont have an iphone and are only really here to be childish and try and pick faults with the iphone.
Why they do this well I dont know we would have to get some of them to be honest for a change and tell us why they feel the need to post here. If you have Nokia etc go and post in the Nokia section etc.
The iphone is not perfect but neither is any other phone out their. Is it more expensive well compared to most smart phones no its not. Yes maybe its more expensive than your average Nokia or whatever make but then again thats what you get an average phone.
How many group test do you get comapring an iphone to an nokia etc!! No its always high end similarly priced phones. And whats is the problem if people want to go out a buy an expensive phone. Do you stop and tell how wrong they are for spending a lot of money on a particular car. clothes etc as long as its not your money who cares.
Maybe people should use the internet and have a good read of the reviews on gsmarena etc and actually read some reviews of the iphone and the other fantastic phones that are out their and are not as good as people would like to think they are.
your Omnia and HTC's etc all have problems and drawbacks which stop them getting 10/10 ratings etc.
its all down to personal choice so grow up and deal with it if you dont want an iphone well thats great buy something else im sure you will love it.
BTW can I just point out a few of the posting rules which need to be upheld more.
# No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand will get you banned
# No trolling - deliberately antagonizing other brand/model users will get you banned.

As for n900 i don't really like it, i'm going to wait for the keyboard to slide out, and maybe then get a maemo.

It's a nice phone, ok, but there's no reason to bash other brands especially when, let's face it there are quite a few features still missing.

A smart user would buy a product to serve his or her needs, and not just because it has this or that feature. Features are subjective. A particular feature might be important to you but useless to others. Some people could care less about smartphones and would buy basic phones. There's nothing laughable about that. You're weird.
