salam every1 can i update my iphone 3gs to 5.0 or 5.1 version now its 4.1 and some games not working some1 told me if u done update then u will kill ur phone plz help me brothers

My iphone 3gs is currently running on ios 5.1 baseband 06.15.00 and it is untethered jailbroken......can anyone help me for how to unlock it....i have tried ultrasnow fixer but it dosent work....
