finally you agree with me, nokia is ridiculous....
now, can you tell me why windows make windows phone 7???
there must be a reason for that!
because windows is smart enough to move on before it left too far,
but nokia stick with their brilliatn os symbian (on nokia manger mind)...
nokia still sleep away on their never ending comfort zone....
Can any one tell me tht how much ram iphone 4 is using?? 3gs had 256mb ram. i hope its doubled in iphone4!!
Anonymous, 13 Jun 2010Wow, a lot of people bashing each other, kinda funny. Android, Symbian, and iOS share some fea... moreThey used to joke last time that the reason smartphones were called smartphones was because only smart people used to use it. Now days the smarter the phone is is defined by how 'simple the UI' is so that even the dumb people can use it.
I agree with you that the term best OS is subjective. What is best for a geek might not be true for a business user or your grandmother.
But what I don't agree is with your naive dismissal that the Symbian is not better than the Iphone OS when it comes to the onboard features. The Symbian in its current amalgamation though does loose out to most OS in terms of UI looks and ease of use is no match to any of them for its maturity and functions. I also disagree with you that thing likes FM radio and HDMI output are purely hardware as you also need such options to be available in the OS.
Symbian has a proper file system and a pretty good file manager, SIP, multiple homescreens and many more that most Symbian user might not even know about. Do you know there is this little app called Switch that allows you to transfer data from your Symbian phone to a new one only via Bluetooth, I'm talking everything, contacts, pictures, calendar. Things like this will not be found in the Iphone OS not only because it can't without a proper upgrade, but because Steve would be set to loose a lot from the money he makes from the app store. Even Android with all its potential does not come close to competing with Symbian (USB tethering was just added when it was available in Symbians long ago). In fact, comparing Symbian to Android is like the latter being and old house with a lot of luxurious stuffs inside that the owners decided to repaint instead of renovating while the Android is a cool looking modern house that the interiors are just being completed.
Nokia though the original pioneers of Smartphones realised too slow the dumberning of smartphones.
But if UI is your only concern, do check out the Symbian^4 OS that will come out early next year that finally means Symbians will be usable by even the most simpleton amongst us.

nokia 7710 is suck....
maybe nokia is the first vendor to brimg touch screen phone to... more@wido
Ridiculous or not but 50% of all smartphones are Symbian
Must be some reason for that?
Quantity give us quality. Apple often highlights 200k applications in Apple store. How many apps are there for Symbian? Can anybody tells us? Countless probably.
None of them is controlled by Nokia. That's freedom of choice!
Did Apple steal this design? http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pic...-m600-00.jpg
iphone is smartphone market leader, IT IS FACT
the only apple strong competitor is android,
the game is suck,
the app is so ugly,
even samsung touch wiz is so much faster than the very dated symbian, ha!!!!!

nokia 7710 is suck....
maybe nokia is the first vendor to brimg touch screen phone to... moreHow can nokia be over?
They can earn money for every iphone sold!
It is a lose battle for apple
nokia as the right no to licence the gsm umts wifi power management patents to apple
apple will die
Whatever you say
nokia still dominate the global market and will dominate the world again
euro370 for spec better than iphone4
ni is just the first fl.agship in this year 2010
you will see meego super high end phone for less expesive than iphone4
and second symbian flagship
nokia 7710 is suck....
maybe nokia is the first vendor to brimg touch screen phone to the market, but it doesn't make any big impact,
diasppear on the deep sea....
what jaycha say is clear,
whatever you say, it is absolutely true that iphone is trendsetter,
it is pretty safe to say that iphone is the one to raise touch screen to the market,
and then nokia hurry up follow apple by making symbian 5th edition that really2 dated and old,
even new symbian ^3 is ridiculous....
you know what, even android the new player can beat symbian on every aspect,
nokia sleeps too long, when they wake up, nokia will be over...........

That what you say is not true and it's quite common mistake deliberately re heated an... morelooking at the hard financial numbers and profits Apple is definitely the smart phone leader, reflected both by market success, and stock value, Nokia stock is down dramatically since Apple is in the phone market.
Nokia took an unbelievable beating from a newcomer in the phone arena.
This is reality, then if you want you can play with touchscreen, megabites, and related BS.

That what you say is not true and it's quite common mistake deliberately re heated and supported by Apple. Take look what Nokia release in 2004.
7710 is as far as I know first smartphone with touch screen (3,5 inch)
Does this tell you anything about who is the leader in smartphone business?
Or Steve Jobs will re invented the truth also?
Before iphone came out with touch screen everybody said (almost everybody) it is not going to work. Fast forward 2 years everybody is trying to come out with touch screen. In 2008 when iphone came out with the app store many said that "they could get a better app in the open market for other OS". Now everybody are trying to open their app store. Screen size: 3.5" in 2007 was considered too big. Critics even said you cannot have a phone of that size. Now 4.3 HTC looks an awesome size to them. Does this tell you anything about who is the leader in smartphone business
Wow, a lot of people bashing each other, kinda funny. Android, Symbian, and iOS share some features. Let's see:
- Want to send an SMS/MMS?... press on the icon, o-m-g :O.
- Want to make a call?... press on the icon, o-m-g :O.
People, at least get your facts straight. These minimal things are amongst the OSes. Now, the big difference is the UI/UX/GUI. That is what you're suppose to be bashing, not the "features" (ie sending a text message
-_-). The iPhone has a "dumb" UI because it is aimed at the average joe, where as Symbian has a "complex" UI because it's aimed at.... haven't figured that out yet.
People seem to think that Symbian is far superior to the iPhone. May I ask on what department? (FYI I said features, not hardware, as in the OS core). Just because on Symbian you have to go through a lot of clicks/presses/menus does not mean that it is better than any other OS, now does it? Moving along, FaceTime is a big evolution from Video Calling. We're sorry if you live in the Eastern side of the world (ie Europe), but here in the states some haven't even experienced Video Calling because of the mobile carriers. Some people haven't even heard of Video Calling. Is that their fault? Of course not. Europe and Asia (and Japan) have been at least a decade ahead from the US in respect to hardware.
If you want to bash companies, at least do it right. Don't come here and say "Well, I have FM radio transmitter... blah blah blah", that's hardware -_-
Nokia n8 with great hardware spec ad new os
with a euro 370 without contract
Be smart buyer
why pay more( double the price of the powerful nokia camera flagship n8)
n8 confirmed to support bluetooth mouse

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2010Mates, I did say 'original defination' right. The E90's great father was called a communicator... moreThe Nokia communicator has been and will be one of the best phones till the E90.. I wish Nokia releases a new communicator since its been a while for the E90 .. There are 2 new E's the E6 and E7 in Nokia's future devices, I'm really hoping one of them is the Communicator, I'm guessing the E7 is the Communicator because its on the toplist of the E series. Oh ya and Nokia's future smartphone table or list can be found in the News section, the topic is about the C7 being leaked, there ull find the picture. Also there is a N9 above the N8 and its on top off all the list, I wonder wat is it gna be.
Anonymous, 13 Jun 2010Read my post dude i said no one operates a HARDWARE QWERTY one handed and yes i know e90 close... moreAww I'm sorry, but I do also operate my Blackberry bold 9700 single handed but I'm with u its hard but I do it wen I need to still mostly with 2 hands, but its possible.
Anonymous, 13 Jun 2010Dude who operates a hardware qwerty on a smartphone like N97 or e90 one handed??Mates, I did say 'original defination' right. The E90's great father was called a communicator as it took smartphones to a higher level with a qwerty keyboard. Besides you can operate it just find with one hand without having to slide out the keyboard every time.
Nokia has since merged the communicator range with their top end smart phones. This is one example to the point I made about the smartphones now are improved with changes.
The point I was making was that while the inclusion of certain features adds to a smartphone functionality, the exclusion of a feature does not mean its not a smartphone to begin with.
