Adobe no longer developing Flash for mobile devices

http://www.tuaw.com/2011/11/09...ile-devices/

"Jobs was widely criticized for this decision (not to include Flash in iPhones), but it appears he was right. Flash never lived up to its potential and now Adobe may be killing it, leaving Google handset makers in the lurch. Companies like HTC will have to drop their support of Flash like Apple or follow Amazon's lead with the Kindle Fire and build their own plug-in if they want a working version of Flash on their future devices."

The iPhone is not perfect, but fills the needs of many people, this is why its so popular. At the same time, it has advantages over other brands, which attract yet even more buyers. At the same time, there are disadvantages, which is what cause people to buy other phones.

Lol, its hardly rocket science. Enjoy the tech that suits you best.

Steve proven right:
ZDNet is reporting that Adobe has announced to its partners that the company has discontinued development on Flash Player for mobile browsers. The news comes roughly a year and a half after the publication of Steve Jobs' "Thoughts on Flash" open letter, laying out his thoughts on the use of Flash in mobile devices and explaining why Apple would not support Flash on their mobile devices.

> In reply to cng @ 2011-11-09 10:19 from MVg6 - click to readLol under no delusion, HTML5 was on Android from the beginning, we knew that. It is however funny how many Android fanboys were saying HTML5 was crap, words which they now have to eat.

It is also interesting to note how they will also now celebrate better battery life, what Apple has basically been saying all along.

In tech, one wants to follow innovation, and if Android continues to play catch up all the time, they will lose customers, as they already are now, to WP7 in large numbers.

Stunned silence reported worldwide from Android fanboys, as Adobe announce stopping of Flash for mobiles.

Awaiting complete u-turn as Android SUDDENLY support HTML5 and admit to have done so from before. Lol

Steve Jobs and Apple proven right! Adobe abandons Flash for mobile. As I had predicted, it was only a matter of time before Android handsets would also not use Flash.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-11-09 03:42 from 2Ca2 - click to readIf its purely from tech specs, then enjoy your HTC, and your soon to be newer Android. Most people buy iPhones for additional reasons than purely tech specs. There are good sides to both, tho I hear loads of Android users are now shifting to WP7.

My year old HTC can do all this, soon enough ill get a newer Android phone with heaps better specs. IPhone has nothing new or better to offer. The only good thing is their range of apps.

iPhone 4S still running out at most retailers, this despite Apple producing a huge amount in anticipation of strong demand.

Interestingly demand is also high for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

In my opinion, in 2012, iPhone market share will remain roughly similar, maybe some slight growth, but the meteoric market share increase will be from WP7 which will be at Android's expense. Do not underestimate the strength of Nokia's loyal following, which had no real alternative previously to Android and iOS.

Samsung is already realizing this and now started showcasing its WP7 line. All the others were basically playing wait and see and now Nokia has shown them that real interest and demand is there.

Open your eyes and free yourself from the cage. Tech is tech, and not bound by any brand. Enjoy what works best for you, iOS, WP7 or Android.
