As expected, a couple of weeks of frenzy by the haters, and now things have settled down. Slate magazine writer even apologised and wrote a whole new article saying he was wrong, and the iPhone 5 is the greatest smartphone ever built. Wow can you imagine someone actually doing that?
Scratch stories have gone since it was probably just an initial batch, and maps not only is it not a disaster, but now people are praising its advanced features. Apple maps auto-cache actually saves double the data of Google maps offline mode.
Lol, just like the iPhone 4S last year, it has weathered the initial hate storm, and come out renewed, a great smartphone.
i thnk there is nothing like iphone in this world of cell phones..

What are the here and theres you are referring too? Please don't come up with the b.s "purple haze" or "map" problem.. I take these minor issues over inconsistent phone problems, page reboots when flipping it to horizontal view, call drops, phone reboots, application reboots, chosing a video to watch and it loads up another video, inferior applications to its the ios, and encountering at least one random glitch per day.
and yes, i'm referring to the s3. Android will never be fixed.

I decided to do scratch test on a white ip5 at the apple store. NO scratch marks appeared. This is the same unit that is sampled by hundreds per day. No scratch marks on it. It was a white unit. That being said, I think it be stupid not to get a protective case for your ip5. The scratch is greatly exaggerated by iphone 5 haters. Trust me. You don't believe me? go to your local apple store and just scratch away. Of course i'm not saying grab a knight. Just use your normal finger nails and scratch it.

I love it how these iphone5 haters, research the internet, to see what flaws are in the ip5. Then pose as an ip5 user, and complain about it. Example Purple haze. What purple haze. Million of complainers. I Only a know a few people who own the ip5, and they have they dont know anything about a purple, haze. Probably a minor glitch, that is so minor. But these posers will pretend they own the phone and complain about it. I used itès maps and its works fine. Maybe because I live in the city.

iphone 5 still lacking that status,
Any Ideal smartpone should have minimum or nil negative issues.

IP5 vs s3, ip5 vs bla,bla,bla
Cmon, people this is competition.
We cant blame phone manufacturer if they wanted to copy other feature from the other brand which they believe it could satisfy the consumer. I am a user of Galaxy s3, though I love Iphone but prefer to use s3. I can say the plastic is quite thin that it could easily break. But I love the specs, it was even funny to see their S-voice a copycat of siri LOL. But yes it is competition and it always happens. Why do just look on the positive side of it, coz without competition phones today could not be as hi-tech than they were today. It is a part of phones evolution, the more competition happens the more upgrades will be presented soon.. Just enjoy your phone men. You bought it and you must love it like I do. More power to all of you guys I phone and S3 users...!
Apple wins Samsung with millions bucks on patent. Does Apple think about the refund or compensation to Apple customers who bought their defects products?
therock, 09 Oct 2012wth? there isn't that much upgrade from iphone 4s to iphone 5! lol.
You are sadly mistaken because you judge from outside and from afar.
It is the biggest speed increase between iPhones. It has increased screen size which was never done before. The camera takes 28 megapixel panoramics. It actually bests the SGS3 in drop tests, where the SGS3 is an excellent phone. It uses an A6 custom chip designed by Apple which not only makes it faster in real time usage than SGS3, it even beat SGS3 running Jelly Bean in GSMArena tests. It's in cell technology and color accuracy caused Display Mate to rate it the best mobile screen ever.
You may not like it, but there is a reason that Slate, Consumer Reports and Engadget all call it the best smartphone ever made.

"Crittercism, which is backed by Google Ventures,
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, AngelPad,
AOL Ventures, Opus Capital and Shasta
Ventures, provides crash reporting to app
developers. The company provides developers
with a wide range of data besides the mobile device and operating system, including, for
example, the length of time between when an
app is loaded and when it crashes, or how a user
is holding a phone–portrait or landscape–when
it crashes. It can also help evaluate whether an
app’s own code has caused it to crash or whether a third party service SDK being used is causing
the problem. This kind of data is important for
helping developers plug all the holes in the
landscape of operating systems. Clients using
Crittercism include: Aston Martin Explore,
Bullet Time and Hipster."
