> In reply to Prashant @ 2008-08-20 07:10 from PUEg - click to readHello Prashant , appreciate your prompt reply.
Yes am using windows XP and yes the problem is solved. Thanks a lot.

Let me put my keypad question in this way,

I wish to use the phone keypad(hardware)to type SMS message just like a low end phone (nokia 1100, 3310 etc). I can use the keyboard but my curiosity remains if the keypad cannot be used for typing alphabets (except for XT9), what remains the use ?

Thanks a lot again.
Ray.

> In reply to Ray @ 2008-08-20 05:01 from U2e6 - click to readRay, The Mass Storage Device option simply turns your phone into a memory card reader. The bad part is that your memory card won't show up in your phone in this mode. I'm guessing that you are using ActiveSync under Windows XP. If so, then you can still use the ActiveSync USB mode, and on your Computer. When you do, Windows Explorer only shows you the contents of your "My Documents" folder under "Mobile Device". In there, expand the "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" entry, to see the hidden "Storage Card" option!

As for the keyboard, I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve - if the XT9 doesn't meet your needs, you can simply switch to the standard keyboard, or choose a 3rd party keyboard, like PocketCM. Not sure why Destinator is uninstalling when you uninstall another program. One thing you can do is to make sure that the Destinator entry is not unchecked in the list of applications when you do so.

> In reply to Ray @ 2008-08-19 20:05 from U267 - click to readI have figured out the way to use the memory card function
Start > settings > connection tab > USB settings > Mass storage device .

But am still not sure how to use the keypad as a normal "abc" keypad for writing messages.(wish the XT9 came preloded with our slang.)

Secondly, whenever i uninstall any program from my phone using activsync , the Destinator (Satcom GPS map software) uninstalls itself and i have to install it all over again. Any one facing that problem ?

Thanks.

Hello Everyone. Quite informative section on the P527. But 2 questions still persist with my phone.

1. When connecting the phone to the computer via USB, is it possible to view the storage card data on the computer ? (I can view only phone memory folders.)

2. How do i use the keypad to write alphabets in the Text message section ? (tried minimizing the XT9, but the dictionary still works. Any way of using it like the normal / conventional keypad for writing messages ?)

Thanks.
Ray

> In reply to Shashi @ 2008-08-19 18:30 from 2@rs - click to readShashi, this phone does not come with a PDF Reader preinstalled, but you can download and install Adobe Reader or PocketXpdf for this purpose. GPS does eat up your battery quite a bit, while consumption is a little less when using FM or Push Email. The business card reader was just okay, but that is more a feature of the provided software.

Can anybody tell is there a PDF reader? How about the battery life if all applications are used like FM/GPS/Push mail? Does the business card reader works well?

> In reply to MS @ 2008-08-13 07:34 from 2Zpc - click to readDid you uninstall the older version first? If not, then it is probably still there since they use different pathnames. If yes, then you can simply go into the Program Files folders to check if the older version is still there. You can also run the software and check the current version number - it should be 7.5.
